Job Description:

The candidate will lead Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) information security governance and site security operations for the Program Protection & Security (PP&S) team and GMD information systems located at Fort Greely AK.


  • The candidate will provide integration and planning for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program Protection & Security (PP&S) team located in Huntsville, AL.

  • Integrates PP&S disciplines in a manner that ensures effective and efficient supportability execution.

  • Defines, develops and monitors program status and performance.

  • Identifies, communicates and influences future business opportunities within the scope of the program.

  • Executes cost, schedule and technical objectives for multi-discipline support direction.

  • Incorporates business processes, technical and contractual changes into the support baseline.

  • Establishes and communicates objectives and goals.

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.


  • Previous experience in executing cost, scheduling and/or technical objectives


  • Knowledge of government, company, and local policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., Estimating system manual, FAR, DFAR, TINA, ITAR, Procurement integrity, Export Compliance) relating to the development of cost and technical proposals.

  • Experience performing Control Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) duties, processes, and system tools

  • Extensive, specialized knowledge of proposal, accounting, and rate development (common systems).


Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

VIEW JOBS 3/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-21T00:00 Provide systems engineering and integration support to the System Definition & Integration Branch/EV72 for the Space Launch System (SLS) Booster Element. Support includes coordinating and interfacing with the Spacecraft and Vehicle Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Division, the Booster Element office, and SLS project teams and personnel as well as participating in reviews, meetings (i.e. team/discipline, TIMs, teleconferences, etc.), working groups, and trade studies. Specific support to be provided and performed includes, but is not limited to, the following: * Support system definition and integration of the Booster functional design by providing integration across the disciplines and interfaces. * Review compliance data supplied in Detailed Verification Objective (DVO) submittals and provide assessment to appropriate Element Discipline Lead Engineer (EDLE), LSE or CE. * Participate in analyses, trade studies, and decision package development for the Booster Element and provide feedback and technical recommendations (written and/or verbal). * Serve as SE support to the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) booster integration and hardware requirement validation. * Provide Insight/oversight of SLS Booster prime contractor products and processes with a focus on execution of system design among vehicle-level, element, subsystem, and component products as well as horizontal integration with other elements to ensure consistency across the program. * Review of select data items, analyses, models, trades, or decision packages developed for the Booster project and provide feedback (written and/or verbal) in support of the Booster LSE or CE. * Develop operational requirements and procedures to enable hardware integration and operations at the launch site. Track Operational Requirements' issues to closure and ensure incorporation into applicable documents; LCCs (Launch Commit Criteria), and OMRs Operation & Maintenance Requirements). * Develop element design requirements and support vehicle design integration activities and events. * Provide support for technical integration across multiple NASA disciplines/centers, diverse engineering and program/project organizations, and a variety of engineering disciplines. * Support the tracking, communication, and resolution of Booster Element risks through the established risk management processes. * Provide technical support for the development or revision of key systems engineering products and analyses for the Booster Element to support program/project milestones and the subsequent activities where these products are assessed. Personnel may be asked to lead and/or support the following systems engineering tasks: * Serve as a Change Package Engineer (CPE) for various engineering change packages developing briefings, decisional packages, change packages, and presentation charts as well as evaluating Change Evaluation (CE) sheets and the leading Task Teams. * Perform technical integration across multiple NASA Centers, diverse engineering disciplines (i.e. vehicle management, structures & environments, production, test, etc.), and program/project organizations. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Masters with at least 8 years of experience, or a BS with at least 10 years of experience. The candidate is also required to have: * Knowledge of interface requirement documentation, functional design definition, hardware integration, and requirement verification that leads to flight hardware certification. * Familiarity with the review of integrated hazard reports, the execution of analyses to closeout integrated requirements, and the evaluation of detailed verification compliance data. * Outstanding negotiation skills demonstrated through complex technical problem solving and the capability to break down complex problems or issues into manageable pieces to facilitate resolution of technical concerns or issues. * Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, customer relation skills, and presentation skills are required. * Outstanding skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) are required.
