Glucerna Marketing

  • Brand Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:

Responsible for managing and implementing short and long term business strategies and tactics to effectively support commercialization, market expansion, and business plan objectives for Glucerna. Additional responsibilities include strategy development, marketing/business plan development, communication strategy and execution, financial management, project management, and AP&G (Advertising, Promotions & Gratis) budget administration.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement marketing strategies, programs and initiatives to drive Glucerna sales and share

  • Own product positioning and competitive selling / communication strategies with Healthcare Professionals.

  • Develop national strategic plan and execute tactics to effectively position, communicate and promote the product.

  • Define product branding and messaging. Manage the development of marketing and promotional materials for Field Sales to effectively promote and sell.

  • Collaborate with Finance to set market share/revenue targets and Supply Chain to manage demand forecasting and inventory.

  • Lead project teams focused on execution of program initiatives. Key stakeholders include health care professionals and patients, Field Sales, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Public Affairs, Executive Management, and external vendors/agencies

  • Collaborate with Marketing Research to coordinate market evaluation testing and data analysis

  • Administer AP&G budget.

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:

Accountable for developing and executing strategic and tactical objectives associated with driving product sales including P&L. Actions and decisions will directly impact attainment of product line financial goals and objectives.

Skills/Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible Marketing product/brand management experience in either health care/OTC marketing, or consumer packaged goods marketing.

  • A strong grasp of core marketing concepts and successful track record of their application, including equity development, branding and market research assessment.

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the proven ability to influence leadership in strategy and investment decisions.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills including business and financial management.

  • Health care professional marketing or sales experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing
  • MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and strategic focus of the position.

JOB DESCRIPTION: PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES: * Leads and directs all marketing activities for the assigned product line(s) or business including P&L responsibility. * Responsible for the development, management, and execution of strategies, innovation and tactical programs to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin and business plan objectives. * Directs and supervises a staff including one or more Product Managers and Advertising/ Promotions Managers. * Additional responsibilities include development of innovation pipeline, long-term equity management, strategic business planning, forecasting, Adverting Promotions & Gratis (AP&G) budget management, financial analysis and project management. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for directing all marketing activity associated with brand across HCP and Direct to Consumer channels of business. * Develop and provide strategic planning and commercial input to the development of the assigned product line. Direct the analysis of the business; oversee the identification of key segment business drivers, priorities and growth opportunities. * Establish marketing strategies for product(s) including advertising/promotions, pricing strategy, distribution channel management, product development, tactical plan development and execution including the activation of National TV and robust personal and non-personal HCPefforts. * Participate in the development of business plans, identify areas of concern and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace. * Develop and execute national product education, publication and promotional activities to effectively communicate the strategic positioning and lifecycle development of products to customers. * Determine and manage the allocation of product budget to maximize ROI. * Develop and execute financial models, market distribution and launch plans, pricing/reimbursement strategy, distribution/ service strategy, situation analysis and assessment of opportunities, ongoing surveillance of emerging technologies and competitive activities, advisory boards and focus groups. * Assess new indications and potential market expansion opportunities. * Drive product positioning and competitive selling strategies as well as provide leadership in managing the logistics, market share and revenue of the product. * Manage the development of marketing and sales aid/promotional materials for Field Sales to effectively promote and sell the product in a health care professional setting. Manage promotional materials to establish product branding and messaging. * Present product and marketing programs to Sr. Management. * Oversee the development of selling tools for the field, which includes the coordination of internal marketing research and market claims testing. * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers and consumers, Field Sales, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Marketing and Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.
