POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global Vice President, Biopharma Business Development builds and leads Natera's pharma services business, working directly with pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic research leaders, and leading a team of dedicated professionals, to expand business with existing clients and establish business relationships with new clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Biopharma Business Development & Sales Teams in the area of companion diagnostics and pharma services for Natera's oncology monitoring business

  • Lead proposal development, term sheet generation, and negotiations w/ Biopharma Companies

  • Be the face of Natera to external pharma partners, liaising with all levels of biopharma partners from biomarker groups to CEOs

  • Drive sales Natera's pharmaceutical services business; secure and retain business through professional, consultative, and proactive sales activities directed at key decision-makers

  • Mentor and lead a team of sales professionals in the United States, Europe, and Asia

  • Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plans for each target account. Develop in-depth knowledge of the customer organization

  • Coordinate with Natera's scientific, operations and leadership team to present comprehensive proposals

  • Maintain high visibility within the customer organization. Monitor customer satisfaction by regular communication with the customer

  • Expand awareness of Natera's products, develop strategic partnerships with customers and oversee alliance management in the ongoing management of those partnerships

  • The employee must pass a post-offer criminal background check

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in business, life sciences, economics or another related field. MBA or related advanced degree desired

  • 5+ years of in-depth commercial, product management, business development and/or marketing in a related industry. Business development, sales and sales management experience required.

  • Technical expertise in life sciences and drug development strongly desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven track record of effectively driving large scale partnering initiatives

  • Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities

  • Adapt and be flexible to changing priorities

  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Can be based anywhere in the United States, strong preference for candidates that are in Boston, New Jersey or San Francisco, where our customers are concentrated

  • Passionate about oncology, genomics, and personalized medicine

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The duties are performed in a typical office setting and require the use of a computer.

  • Duties might sometimes require working outside of normal working hours.

  • Travel required for this position:
