Overview

Scentsy is looking for a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to develop best in class processes and maintain strategic trade programs for Scentsy as they relate to global trade transportation safety and security. As the Global Trade Compliance Specialist, you will provide strategic direction and leadership for the global trade security, safety, and transportation function.

What You Would Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop a strategic roadmap to design, launch, and administer global trade security related programs including;

  • Customs -Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), global mutual recognition supply chain security programs (e.g. Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)), transportation loss prevention, dangerous goods transportation (e.g. 49 CFR & IATA) and Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) program

  • Create standardized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Logistics and Trade Compliance functions

  • Initiate C-TPAT validation minimum security requirements for import and export with cross-functional leaders

  • Work closely with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to validate Scentsy's supply chain and work with suppliers to ensure top tier C-TPAT status

  • Manage and administer transportation security programs with global Scentsy entities and partners (e.g. 3PL, suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, Information Technology)

  • Implement systems to mitigate risk and minimize product loss while in transit

  • Administer and manage Dangerous Goods transportation program globally for Scentsy freight movements

  • Initiate Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) program validation and work closely with Trade Compliance, CBP, and cross functional teams to develop new SOP, auditing, and recordkeeping under ISA requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and in accordance with Scentsy ethics and compliance standards

  • Maintain strong relationship with U.S. CBP, Department of Transportation (DoT) and all other relevant governing agencies

  • Manage various projects within Logistics and Trade Compliance as they arise

  • Work closely with Global Trade Compliance and Logistics teams

  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

You Should Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of transportation/logistics and trade compliance or related experience

  • 5 years security relevant experience

  • 5 years 49 CFR and IATA dangerous goods experience

Things You Should KNow & Be Able to Do:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • A self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment

  • Knowledge of import and export regulations and processes including, the Importer Self-Assessment program and C-TPAT

  • Can assist in driving programs and or projects related to departments strategic opportunities and any other company critical needs

  • Ability to write standardized processes and procedures for specific trade and logistics functions.

  • Ability to research general theories of law and provide possible solutions and or recommendations with course of action

  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and apply advance customer service skills with internal and external customers

  • Strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical abilities

  • Ability to function independently

  • Must have working knowledge of computers and all applicable software including proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other job specific related software applications
