The Global Trade Compliance Export Specialist is responsible for managing global export compliance activity while supporting the company's growth objectives. This person reports to the Global Trade Compliance Export Manager and works across the company to provide export compliance guidance and process development to ensure compliance with US and local law in the exportation of goods, technology, and services globally. This individual will respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance as required to maintain company compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor global export regulatory and legislative changes and alerts the company's leadership team and translates into actionable business recommendations and business plans.

  • Performs in-depth regulatory, organizational and/or technical analysis of export related issues

  • Leads initiatives/projects with peers and internal/external customers to solve complex challenges

  • Provides guidance to functional groups that have a direct or indirect impact on company exports

  • Guides, reviews, and approves export license, ruling, and jurisdiction applications to US government agencies, and reports to authorities as required by engaging appropriate resources

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to export activity

  • Provides guidance and support on systems/tools (e.g., SAP & IFS) to further enable company compliance

  • Consults and assists in the design, development, and implementation of business processes that effectively meet business goals and objectives while remaining compliant

  • Assist the Global Trade Compliance Export Manager with development and delivery of export compliance training globally

  • Support the internal audit program, identifying areas of risk while supporting/tracking corrective action

  • Understand and apply export requirements for countries where Rockwell Automation operates

  • Maintain a thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Business Administration/International Degree or equivalent or significant related work experience.

  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Preferred Qualifications/Criteria:

  • Direct knowledge of the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including encryption provisions, and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) regulations

  • Global trade and compliance expertise, consisting of 5+ years managing multiple, complex trade compliance programs for an entity with global operations.

  • Knowledge of corporate trade compliance programs and issues desired.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office and SAP.

Pratt & Whitney's Military Engines Global Trade (GT) team is looking for an experienced export control professional that will be responsible for working closely with the business to develop process solutions to GT issues. Key Responsibilities: * Export Authorizations Management: manage export authorizations International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) agreements, licenses, and exemptions * EAR licenses and exceptions, work with drafters to ensure timely submission and monitor status through the application, activation and management processes. * Work closely with business unit customers and stakeholders to ensure that, for each application, all required information is obtained for applications and are complete and accurate. * Support activation, management, and close-out of agreements and licenses. * Maintain a good relationship with program counterparts and be aware of the program developments to ensure export authorization needs are recognized in advance and addressed on a timely basis to support ongoing business activities. * Provide Military Engines customers day-to-day guidance as well as formal training in trade compliance subject matter areas. * Implement required standard work, coordinate export requirements with program and export management, ensure compliance with company policies and U.S. import and export regulations in relation to hardware, technical data, and defense services. * Participate in Pratt & Whitney GT activities including audits, internal investigations, corrective actions, communications, training development, and implementation of key policies and procedures. * Follow standardized processes to determine root cause and corrective actions for process improvements based on data, process failures and other related investigation recommendations. * Participate, as required, in the GT initiatives and process improvement projects to ensure that business unit needs, and requirements are sufficiently addressed. * Ensure that authorization users are trained and aware of the requirements and coverage of authorizations. Interact with foreign parties to ensure they are updated and trained as required. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred fields of study are Legal, Engineering, Business Management or Supply Chain * You are a US Citizen or US Person due to Government contracts. * A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience * 1 or more years of professional experience practicing law, developing contracts or applying general Global Trade (GT) knowledge * 1+ years' experience with interpreting and applying ITAR and EAR and other applicable laws and regulations governing international trade, to include: Experience with the application and management of export authorizations including use of internal and external IT tools (SAP, D-Trade/SNAP-R/OCR-EASE, etc.). * Applicants who have no formal work experience but have a combination of advanced degrees and completed internships/co-ops can be considered Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced degree or MBA * Experience and understanding of regulations governing international trade, and applying that to managing authorizations. Fundamental understanding of customs/import laws and non-U.S. trade compliance regulation and Export Control Reform. * Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, interpersonal, leadership, and verbal and written communication skills.
