Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.
As a Global Supply Manager (GSM), you will work with internal teams to ensure Google has capital equipment support for production of innovative products from our Engineering teams. You will build and leverage strong working relationships with suppliers to insure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
You will also be a member of our overall Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide the optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance of our hardware products.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of related Global Supply Manager experience.
Experience with finance and analytics, cost modeling and negotiations and New Product Introduction experience managing Capital Equipment Vendors.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Experience in consumer product hardware development.
Design For Manufacturing (DFM) experience.
Experience establishing partnerships.
Ability to interpret legal documents and work with the Legal team to complete agreements.
Ability to speak and write in Mandarin fluently and idiomatically.
Develop equipment and fixture vendor partnerships for cross-programs to further commercial and operational priorities.
Negotiate equipment and fixtures to support build readiness across ongoing, concurrent development builds, directly with vendors or indirectly through contract manufacturing partners.
Partner with Operations and Engineering to drive capital equipment strategies across Google Hardware.
Engage Engineering, Operations and vendors in technical discussions to optimize capital investment through design, processes and supply chain management.
Manage existing assets and investments effectively across Hardware Product Area.
