We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Global Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our supply chain across these regions.

Job Summary: As the Global Supplier Quality Engineer - Machining, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our global supply chain. Your primary responsibility will be to develop new suppliers with new disciplines (castings, forgings, weldments, gear cutting). This role will assess, monitor, and improve the quality of machined components/assemblies sourced from suppliers across China, India, Vietnam, and Taiwan. You will collaborate closely with our existing suppliers to implement quality improvement initiatives, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  2. Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and performance metrics (score card) to ensure consistent quality across the supply chain.

  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing, to define and translate quality requirements for machined components and ensure alignment with production goals.

  4. Investigate root causes of supplier quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and monitor effectiveness to prevent recurrence.

  5. Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers in resolving quality-related challenges, including process improvements, tooling optimization, and inspection techniques.

  6. Lead supplier development initiatives to enhance the capabilities and maturity of key suppliers, including process capability assessments, training programs, and quality system audits.

  7. Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through data analysis, trend monitoring, and benchmarking against industry standards.

  8. Collaborate with our global sourcing teams to identify new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and qualify them for new product introductions or capacity expansions.

  9. Maintain documentation related to supplier quality activities, including audit reports, inspection records, and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).

  10. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to machining processes and supplier quality management.

  11. Must be a US person or green card holder.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or quality management roles within the machining industry.

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, including CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding, and finishing.

  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.

  • Experience with supplier auditing, supplier development, and supplier performance management.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers across different cultures and regions.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 35%) to visit supplier/customer sites and support quality initiatives.

Location:
This position is based out of Trumbauersville, Pa with frequent travel to supplier/customer sites in China, India, Vietnam, and Taiwan – 25-35% travel expected.
