About the role:

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute sourcing strategies and supplier management strategies for Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunication (Telecom) suppliers to reduce costs without compromising quality. The individual will be responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiations and management of major contracts for the company. In addition, this position is responsible for leveraging relationships between BSC sites, divisions, and strategic supplier base to improve organizational efficiency and optimize business and financial opportunities. The individual should be able to partner with our Chief Information Officer and his leadership team to optimize IT expenditures for company.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies in IT/Telecom categories that results in a sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Provide strategic influence while building relationships with outside suppliers and respective internal leads to increase organizational integration and efficiency

  • Lead and support enterprise governance process and supplier management of outsourced providers (including the development and implementation of key performance metrics)

  • Guide respective internal leads through a holistic & systematic category approach to supplier selection and management.

  • Establish early, new supplier involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost.

  • Develop relationships and a sourcing operating model with IS leadership

  • Negotiate new agreements and SOWs in support of key sourcing areas

  • Support function in due diligence and solution creation for outsourcing

  • Conduct periodic market analysis of rates and other commercial terms

  • Understand and promote best practices in outsourcing

  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field and equivalent experience is required. An advanced degree (MBA) and professional certification (e.g., C.P.M.) is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 year's experience in procurement-related activities as well as business process design and organizational change.

  • A background in IT or Telecom sourcing is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytics competencies, project management, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to organize and strategize each opportunity to yield optimum results.

  • Well-honed skills in influencing, building consensus, and implementing change management programs

  • Business acumen to influence parties outside of the direct span of control.

  • Proficient at building business cases and presenting these cases to senior management.

NOTE: The position will involve some travel to meet with suppliers and stakeholders

About the Role The Director of Global RM Commercial Strategy is responsible for managing a team that delivers: * Strategic & Operating planning – apply experience gained through strategic decision support and market intelligence to facilitate development of business unit, divisional and franchise strategy globally with the leadership team. Align commercial priorities across the globe by facilitating the commercial investment trade-offs. * Customer Intimacy – assist the division in best determining where & how to play, as well as competitive responses to both internal and external market dynamics across the globe through market intelligence, performance and competitive trends. * Market research / intelligence - analysis of competitive financial results and key business activities to enable internal teams to develop more informed strategies and to calibrate senior management on BSC's relative performance. * Portfolio Management / New Business Development (NBD) – Divisional representatives working closely with our corporate BD team to identify, evaluate and prioritize potential acquisitions and partnerships. * Price Strategy – partner with commercial leaders to define and socialize global price strategies including product launch, lifecycle management, and competitive response. * Key Partnerships Alignment – partner with key internal and external stakeholders to include PIB, BPT, Franchise, Finance & Sr. Staff leadership within the division, as well as Corporate partners to include NBD, Reimbursement and Marketing Strategy to ensure alignment with respect to metrics and goals. * Project-based decision support – research and business analytics to structure, inform, and drive critical business decisions within divisions and/or at the corporate level. * Marketing excellence – developing and implementing processes, tools, best practices, and training to improve marketing performance across the Rhythm Management Business Unit globally. Your responsibilities include: The Director of Global RM Commercial Strategy is expected to be a team player in supporting the Rhythm Management commercial team on important initiatives for the organization. She/he is expected to develop relationships with business partners, perform creative analytics and research to develop compelling recommendations, and provide excellent project management. Additionally, the Director is responsible for developing the team's capabilities, empowering them to independently and successfully manage their own projects. Responsible for working with corporate and divisional teams to develop high impact commercial and business strategies, he/she will rapidly become an expert on the points of view and processes for understanding the RM marketplace, identifying market trends and growth opportunities, diagnosing customer needs and behaviors, predicting likely competitive dynamics, and analyzing the economics of the business so that the company can make effective choices to maximize competitive advantage.
