The candidate will be responsible for analytical support within Global Security Communications Center for monitoring local and global events that potentially impact the safety of Abbott personnel and business operations. This individual may serve the Lake County team or any of several other Abbott client groups and regions. Candidate must be able to communicate verbally both via several mediums (radio, telephone and written). Communications may include executive-quality incident summaries. The candidate will monitor and operate multiple reporting and alarm systems concurrently. Knowledge in applying analytical and risk evaluation methodologies and techniques will be a prerequisite for this position.
Candidates will be responsible for complying with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures, produce accurate, timely, positive results when monitoring events such as emergency response, crisis management and incident command. Additional skills should include;

Demonstrated knowledge of current topics and trends of current conflict zone(s) around the world that potential global security threats.
Demonstrated ability to identify, plan, design and develop complex analytical projects in alignment with corporate goals, priorities and missions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and produce written operational intelligence products that incorporate data from various sources (e. g., open source, and corporate databases, etc.).
Possess excellent written and verbal communications and customer service skills.
Consistently works with reliable Intelligence resources to identify local and global events.
Continuously trains in and applies established Global Security criteria, for the creation and dissemination of intelligence notification products.
The GCC Communications Analyst position will report directly to the Global Command Center's Manager and Supervisor. No direct reports are assigned the GCC Communications Analyst, however, under the guidance of the GCC Manager and Supervisor, the candidate should anticipate mentoring new communications analysts or GCC support Staff or trainees.
College degree is highly desired. 2+ years of functional analytical/dispatch experience with Experience with various software is essential, i. e., Microsoft Office suite, particularly Access and Excel.. Bilingual skills (written and oral), are preferred.
