Under general direction and supervision from Vice President of Quality, provide management leadership for nVent's global Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Quality Assurance programs. To organize, plan, implement, and control a Quality Management System (QMS) which will deliver best in class overall customer satisfaction, reduce overall Cost of Quality and achieve world class quality performance. Responsibility covers global sites (close to $2.2 Billion of total sales).
Key role responsibilities
Assists the Vice President of Quality in defining, developing and deploying long term strategies to achieve world class systems and best in Quality products and services
Own the Global ISO certification process for nVent. Develop, revise and update nVent's Quality Policy, Quality Manual, Quality Documentation Structure and Quality Systems to ensure compliance to ISO 9001-2015 requirements and other Quality certificates (Ex: AS9100 and NCA-3800) .
Act as guardian, custodian and a promoter of Company's quality standards. Align Global Quality Objectives with executive leadership. Drive improvements within nVent's Quality systems.
Ensure compliance to the Quality Management System (QMS) and work to align the Quality System to meet current business and customer needs while continuously evaluating its effectiveness. Measure Quality Systems performance against established industry standards. Develop and maintain a companywide audit process and schedule.
Provides leadership to achieve Global ISO 9001-2015 Certifications by Business Unit.
Champions and drives systemic Quality improvements & standardization across nVent's Integrate Supply Chain (ISC) by developing processes and procedures, including Quality training modules to cover all products, processes and services.
Drives systemic improvements across Quality KPI's through standardization and best practices utilizing product line quality leaders and quality tools as appropriate.
Leads the integration of nVent Quality Management System into the current and/or new ERP systems. Stay current with industry standards and work toward self-development through continued training and certification
Act as champion for the Company's Customer Complain System, Corrective/Preventive Action System (CA/PA), and Change Management (CM) processes.
Own the Quality SharePoint. Make sure information is updated frequently and available to the Quality team globally.
Develop quality Metrics/Dashboards. Champion changes in quality metrics, help introduce future metrics and dashboards, develop operational definitions to make it easy for the organization to report accurate and consistent metrics.
qualifications and experience
At least three recent years must have been spent in business-to-business industrial multi-site and/or plant based positions.
Experience in a high-level corporate quality leadership role is highly preferred. Proven track record in leading significant strategic initiatives in quality across multiple sites and/or divisions.
Extensive knowledge in building Quality Management Systems and creating/ maintaining Quality Control Manual and Divisional Procedures in compliance with ISO 9001.
Extensive experience with Automotive AIAG quality techniques: PPAP, APQP, Process Maps, FMEA, Control Plans, Process/Product Capability Analysis, Corrective & Preventive Action, Calibration & product quality improvement using tools such as six sigma.
Black or Green Belt Certification and/or Lean Manufacturing formal training required. Exceptional analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills. CQM or other applicable quality certifications preferred
Ability to work independently, as well as direct the work of others.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering or other equivalent degree. Master Degree preferred.
10 + year experience in manufacturing, quality/reliability engineering, quality assurance, quality systems, customer service.
Demonstrated ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization
Ability to effectively plan, direct and coordinate activates across different sites. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others. Ability to multi-task & handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships at all levels both internally and externally (customers, suppliers, internal functions)
Ability to effectively run meetings and drive for results according to timelines given
Ability to work across cultural boundaries global acumen
