Assist with multiple levels of Purchasing & Supply Chain within the corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in areas of strategic purchasing, global sourcing, and operational duties within the various Purchasing departments throughout the corporation.
Provide support to Buyers and Purchasing Agents in the procurement of goods and services from suppliers. Assist with movement of materials to customers in the most efficient way at the lowest rates.
Work with Materials department in maintaining inventory and parts sale records.
Assist with packaging and transportation of kits and materials to global assembly facilities.
Study lean practices that will assist manufacturing to gain competitive edge in areas of throughput.
Review supplier performance and make appropriate recommendations.
Schedule purchased parts to support the requirement date of the production schedule.
Follow up and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage Inventory balances in support of inventory turns goals and customer flexibility requirements.
Maintain system database of planning and procurement parameters.
Manage engineering change effectiveness to provide material availability.
Manage suppliers to ensure adequate capacity to support operations.
Obtain quotations as a basis for negotiating contracts.
Load materials management programs with suppliers to support needs of manufacturing operations for cost effective procurement.
Coordinate major production schedule changes with suppliers.
Collaborate with engineering on existing models and on new product development projects.
Lead sourcing projects and manage source selection on various commodities and applications.
Student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business or related field throughout entire duration of the internship.
Graduation date after December 2020.
Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while working independently and efficiently.
Ability to prioritize work load to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to function in a small team environment, must be a contributor and know when to attain consensus.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
