  • POSITION SUMMARY: Global Product Support is a function of the Enablement team within the Customer Care organization at Cepheid.

    The primary mission of Global Product Support is enablement and support the Regional Customer Care teams (Americas, EMEA, APAC). The Global Product Support (GPS) Technical Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation and completion of Global Product Support projects ensuring commitments and goals are met by project members. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables and progress/ toll gate reviews Assists with implementation, execution and monitoring of key deliverables Develops full scale project plans, runs project timelines and tracks deliverables Regularly monitors and reports on progress of projects to all stakeholders including issues and resolutions Participates in cross-functional meetings and works with regional teams to ensure full alignment with stakeholders in projects Partners with stakeholders across Cepheid for cross-functional projects Handles multiple time-sensitive requests and prioritizes appropriately to meet deadlines Leads project funnel and reports to leadership with regular cadence, prioritizing to customer experience and business needs Compiles and analyzes reports, charts, graphs and statistics from multiple source materials Analyzes root cause of Operations issues to identify gaps and lead corrective actions Presents projects, findings and analysis to management and executive levels Drive Continuous Improvement initiative to improve efficiency and operational performance - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education and Experience (in years): Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master's degree in Engineering or Sciences with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in Engineering or Sciences with 0-2 years of related work experience PMP Qualification in Project Management highly preferred Knowledge and skills: Direct experience in a project management within a Technical Support/ Customer Care/ Service environment Knowledge of project management techniques and tools IVD/ Medical Device experience is preferred Knowledge of microfluidics and optics with applications to PCR related products highly preferred Effective interpersonal skills (written & verbal) Ability to function in a high-paced, metric-based environment Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with cross-functional teams Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, prioritize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Teammate with excellent interpersonal skills, ambitious, upbeat, "can-do" attitude Proficient in MS Project, Office, and Outlook Experience with ERP and CRM systems (SAP & Salesforce preferred) Occasional work during non-business hours to support global teams Physical requirements/abilities: Work in an office environment Attend meetings in different buildings within the campus 10-20% travel PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

VIEW JOBS 1/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-25T00:00 The Role: The New Product Introduction PROJECT MANAGER is responsible for managing component level changes into the production lines and supporting the production launch of new products for specific engineering systems, i.e: Upper Body, Chassis, Charger, Battery, Interior, etc. This requires the project manager to lead a cross-functional team to ensure engineering, product, and manufacturing validation targets have been met for each change. As well, the project manager is responsible for the tactical implementation for the change and ensuring factory readiness for change execution; they are seen as the subject matter expert for their part subsystem within the production organization. Responsibilities: * Drive all product change activities for new or revised products into the factory/factories. Clear target is to meet or exceed project/program milestones….."non-event launch" mentality with each * Participate in, and lead "cross functional" change control forums. Provide clear updates on status and recovery plans as necessary to bring projects back to target * Work with design engineering to create, validate, and maintain the MBOM/product deviations for responsible group of parts * Ensure all factory systems (MRP, ERP, MES, etc) are validated and prepared for each transition * Oversee the complete manufacturing validation for responsible group of parts….drive supply chain readiness and handover from launch planning to production planning; oversee factory transition; and follow-up on excess/obsolescence and post change activities. * Steer overall validation plan creation (Success criteria/KPIs) for the product change or coordinated group of products to change * Environment, health, and safety taken into account in all activities and manufacturing validations * Ensure that NPI processes are followed in all doings (PCA, MRT, etc) * Organization and follow-up of open points/actions that are required to secure a non-event introduction of the change; ensure conveyed and well communicated as actionable items. * Interact, integrate, and drive results across cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, production, production control, sales, service, etc. * Author timely project status, summary, and issue resolution tracking reports. * Support the Program Manager in driving Production Launch activities for major vehicle updates as it relates to responsible group of parts. * Various other activities as assigned to support NPI and/or other production departments Requirements: * Production Operations Knowledge - Has a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including key items such as industrial workings between facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, error proofing, etc. * Background in manufacturing/industrial engineering and supply chain highly desired * Understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to new products (methodology, validation plans, associated KPIs) * Good understanding of design for manufacture, process design, process validation, and assembly methods. * Interpersonal skills dealing with all levels of an organization. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. Well versed with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc). Excellent organizational skills * Able to be a creative thinker and devise creative solutions to complicated problems * Excellent problem solving skills; adverse in various problem solving methodologies * Team player; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams. * Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) desired * Previous experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc) is beneficial * Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings or CAD models * Has a good understanding of production line layout, flow and modeling.
