Job Description

Job Summary:

The Global Product Manager will support Senior Product Management in a variety of areas such as; market quantification and analysis, business case development, competitive bench marking activities, maintenance of line activities, product testing and validation, product road-map generation, and life-cycle planning. With a focus on the fishing segment, this role requires strong connections to both sales and engineering to bridge the gap between departments and bring to life products that fulfill unmet customer needs. Sonar, radar, combo units, UAVs and other peripherals will all fall within the Associated Global Product Manager's area of expertise.

Detailed Description:

  • Assist in the drafting of market specifications to clearly relay product features of value and depict a MVP (minimum viable product) that will attract targets consumers. Ensure key product epics are recorded in collaboration tools (e.g. Jira). Champion product specifications through the entire PRP (product realization process) to ensure the outcome delivers on all key criteria. Oversee development team(s) sprint planning process and provide progress reports to executive management.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop effective launch materials that include details on segmentation focus, target consumer messaging and positioning of the Raymarine offering within the competitive set. Interact with necessary departments to develop a product development/launch calendar to ensure the on-time delivery of all marketing assets. Coordinate all product setup activities, including part creation, initial forecasting, sample management, marketing material review, out-of-box audits, etc.

  • Interact with end consumers, distribution partners and the global sales team to identify unfulfilled market opportunities. Estimate development efforts and prioritize opportunities into a "portfolio road-map" of deliverable products and features.

  • As the product expert, provide assistance to field sales, marketing and product support to help maintain momentum throughout the entire product life-cycle. Represent all fishing-related products within the PLG (product liaison group), helping determine the critical nature of existing issues and seeing them through until resolution.

  • Dedicate time on the water to evaluate products as they progress through development and benchmark performance against the relevant competitive set.

  • Maintain a knowledge base of the competitive marketplace, including feature sets, pricing strategies and discount seasonality.

  • Perform market research to understand expanding and contracting markets and utilize insights to provide high-level strategic recommendations to executive management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Majoring in business, engineering or a related field)

  • Ability to build and work financial models

  • 2-3 Years of product management or product management support experience

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and other collaboration tools

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic understanding of legal contracts and commercial agreements

Preferred Skills:

  • Valid NASBLA safe boating license desired and comfort trailing, launching and running a boat

  • Commercial UAV (FAA Part 107) license desired

  • Strong salt water boating/fishing knowledge desired

  • Strong SAP and PowerBI skills
