Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Compliance Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of payroll procedures, and a deep knowledge of tax regulations. The Payroll Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing payroll staff, maintaining accurate records, and implementing best practices to optimize payroll processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filing accurate tax returns and payments on time.

• Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations and communicate implications to management and staff.

• Develop and maintain payroll procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with HR and finance departments to resolve payroll-related issues and implement process improvements.

• Develop and conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify and correct discrepancies.

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as needed.

• Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll matters and provide excellent customer service.

• Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies during payroll audits and inquiries.

• Participate in special projects related to payroll, such as system upgrades or implementations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree. Accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or related fields preferred.

• Twelve (12)+ years of experience in payroll processing and compliance, with at least a few in a supervisory role. OR Eight (8)+ years and a Master's degree.

• Thorough understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate and develop a team.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Experience with multi-state payroll, international payroll processing, and Workday is a plus.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
