Job Description

Sealed Air Corporation (US) is seeking a Global Packaging Specialist for our Charlotte, North Carolina location. The position will be responsible for designing, prototyping, evaluating, and marketing new Sealed Air/ Food Care, and Cryovac brand materials to package meat and dairy products.

Work to understand how packaging materials interact with the packaged meat and dairy products; identify and test safe & suitable technical parameters to improve packaged products through analytical testing; convey scientific results internally and to clients; prepare results in a manner consistent with publication in peer-reviewed journals and patent filings. Serve as global technical liaison with North America, South America, and Latin America supply chain facilities to provide strategic marketing support to sales representatives on new meat and dairy products and applications to our North, South, and Latin American clients.

Qualified applicants will have a Master's degree in Animal Sciences, Meat Science or related, and three years of experience in the food and/or meat industry. A qualified applicant will possess one year of experience conducting advanced fresh red meat carcass fabrication (beef, pork or lamb), such as muscle dissection.

Must possess at least 6 months of experience with the manufacturing, packaging, distribution, storage, or cooking of meat products. The candidate must possess 6 months of experience with food chemistry, thermodynamics, fluid flow, or rheology. Must possess 6 months of experience in meat science and muscle physiology, including muscle chemistry, meat or dairy microbiology, and sensory attributes.

Must possess 6 months of experience with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) program, food borne pathogens and meat safety. Candidate must also possess 3 months of experience with technical writing and scientific data presentation.
