When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. After a nearly hundred-year journey that's carried us through acquisitions and expansion, we now have nine U.S. locations, as well as operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China.

Seeking an Intern to join Teknor Apex's Global Ops Excellence team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about learning, has an interest in learning Microsoft PowerBI in the professional workspace, learning how to leverage Python or R in PowerBI, and are interested in the manufacturing sector, specifically in plastics. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that will develop both your technical and soft skills, and gain industry experience in Plastics as well as how Global Operations work in the manufacturing space. Duties Include:

Weekly Communications:

• Draft, edit, and distribute weekly communications for the Global Operations group.

• Ensure all communications are clear, creative, and effectively conveys the necessary information shared during meetings.

• Collaborate with various departments to gather content and feedback for communications.

Analytics and Reporting:

• Utilize PowerBI to create, maintain, and update analytics dashboards.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports using data visualization tools.

Data Analysis:

• Employ Python and R to perform detailed data analysis and automate reporting processes.

• Clean, organize, and interpret large data sets to support decision-making.

• Develop predictive models and algorithms to identify trends and patterns.

Meeting Facilitation:

• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with engineers and other professionals to gather information for weekly communications.

• Document meeting minutes and follow up on action items.

• Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed about project statuses and updates.

Qualifications:

• Current Junior or Senior in a degree program related to Business, Marketing, Data Science.

• Must be able to work 40 hours each week. Monday - Friday, 8 hours daily.

• Proficiency in PowerBI for data visualization and dashboard creation.

• Experience with Python and R for data analysis and automation.

• Familiarity with data cleaning, organizing, and interpreting large data sets.

• Basic understanding of predictive modeling and algorithms.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
