Responsibilities LAN services are managed by the Global Network Services (GNS) organization within Global Infrastructure Services (GIS). The LAN service scope is global and includes services for wired, wireless, and physical connectivity, and DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM). These services are provided through the managed services agreement with AT&T.

The primary roles of the Global LAN Architect ensure the architecture is maintained, implemented and meets the corporate needs. This includes providing oversight to global solution delivery and driving strategic implementations. Key success factors include leading the migration to Software Defined Access and enforcement of security best practices across Global LAN Services.

Primary Responsibilities

Global Service Delivery

  • Manage service provider performance for LAN services by conducting regular service reviews, auditing service provider performance against SLAs, and escalating performance issues through the defined governance structure.

  • Ensure appropriate security posture across services.

  • Drive improvements by reviewing service provider's improvement plans to ensure the service improvement plan addresses root cause effectively.

  • Drive cost efficiency into the delivery of global LAN services.

  • Perform capacity and demand planning with service provider - Forecast business demand for all in-scope and new services.

  • Drive resolution of major LAN service outages by influencing the service provider's recovery and permanent fix plans.

  • Influence the service provider's disaster recovery plan to ensure it sufficiently addresses Lilly's business continuity by reviewing the plan regularly and participating in disaster recovery tests.

Global Solution Delivery

  • Influence service provider's LAN solution designs to ensure business and security requirements are met appropriately.

  • Authoritatively consult on LAN related services and projects.

  • Provide external perspective by performing market research to ensure proposed solutions are viable and cost effective.

  • Drive resolution of key technical and business issues related to LAN projects.

Global LAN Strategy

  • Drive LAN Strategy, which includes wired, wireless and physical connectivity, DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM).

  • Develop plan and drive transition to new software defined LAN Architecture.

  • Ensure service provider's proposed solutions meet Lilly's Security requirements and business needs.

  • Align strategy with InfoSec organization by communicating strategy, listening for input and incorporating appropriately.

  • Maintain and communicate service roadmaps that describe timing for key capabilities.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years experience with in global network strategy, design, and operations

Responsibilities The Global Network Security Architect will track, report and influence the network security-related portfolio to ensure alignment across infrastructure and security organizations. The Global Network Services include WAN, Internet, LAN, DataCenter, Firewalls, and DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP address management). Primary responsibilities include ownership of the network security architecture and management of the lifecycle for network security capabilities. Management of the lifecycle provides overall stewardship for all appropriate network security capabilities throughout the Propose, Design, Develop, Test, Deploy, Support and Retire phases. The GNSA role will track, report and influence the network security-related portfolio to ensure alignment across infrastructure and security organizations. Role Responsibilities: * Establish and maintain appropriate relationships (trusted advisor) across infrastructure and security teams. * Develop and implement to architectural principles based on industry standard methodologies. * Collaboratively document current state capabilities and architecture analysis. * Collaboratively lead the creation of target architectures. * Assess, develop, and maintain a network security capabilities/controls architecture. * Engage in portfolio management process and provide oversight for all security-related initiatives. * Align architecture across infrastructure and Information Security organizations by communicating architecture and incorporating input appropriately. * Maintain and communicate service roadmaps that describe timing for key capabilities and controls. * Develop deep security expertise across GNS through mentorships and training curriculum.
