Global Move Lead
Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for all move activities across the Symantec Global portfolio.
In this role, the manager leads a team of professionals responsible for translating business requirements into effective solutions aligned with the client workplace model and real estate strategy. Also provides project management support required for the implementation of office relocation changes in the areas of space requirements, systems furniture, case goods, equipment, electrical requirements and storage areas. Manage contractors that provide move services, furniture reconfigurations, security, and IT.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Collaborates with Real Estate Portfolio Team, Project Management, Facility Managers and CRE team members providing a single point of contact for Move Management services
Coordinate and implement project relocation plans and schedules. Coordinate with end user and resource departments such as Facilities, IT, Security, Mail Services, Human Resources, etc
Makes recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, cost savings, and innovative service advancements for all functional areas within the service line
Develop data analytics and analysis tools used by the team to generate space solutions and compare options to achieve a comprehensive view of the option outcomes
Oversees delivery of client workplace model standards related to space planning and FF&E services
Generate space planning solution templates for use by team in client document development and presentation delivery
Coach the team in providing effective space planning solutions for all project types (Expansions, Relocations, Consolidations, Disposals)
Assist the team in performing site assessments to review space efficiencies, utilization metrics and supply and demand studies
Lead all coordination efforts for MACs.
Coordinate and schedule project meetings to provide timely end user communications
Coordinate and analyze proposals and bids from approved vendors
Ensure MAC execution and completion adheres to approved scope, schedule, budget and documentation
Update aperture system related to the movement of employees identified.
Issue orders for approved projects to contractors, supervise furniture and related equipment moves, receive and verify invoices for payment
Verify new furniture deliveries for MACs; work with client to ensure that appropriate documentation is forwarded to their purchasing and fixed asset system
Conduct post completion project reviews and administer customer satisfaction surveys in compliance with established contractual performance indicators
Interface with Space Planners and end user to gather requirements
Assist client as needed with design and planning activities
Report on project status to client and end user departments
Coordinate project space / moves plans and information with contractors
Assist and maintain move plans, furniture and move documents
Ensure compliance with approved standards and authority levels.

Important education and experience
Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years' work experience in two or more of the following: a) interior design, b) architecture and c) space planning
3-5 years' experience in a management position
Minimum of five years' experience in a corporate real estate environment
Possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to develop conclusions and recommendations
Demonstrates proficiency in architectural and engineering drawings, concepts, and design
Experienced in managing projects of varied scope and complexity
Ability to analyze and translate client requirements into directives for contractors
Possess technical judgment and discretion; critical in keeping projects on schedule in after-hour situations
Ability to analyze and identify the monetary and logistical ramifications of space changes
Demonstrates a working knowledge of various office furniture systems
Proficient in MS Office Suite software applications
Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver effective services
Strong oral, written and presentation skills
Assumes ownership of requests in order to ensure successful completion
