The person hired for the position of Global Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Technology Manager will report directly to the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Director and be a key member of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leadership Team and the Global Business Teams. The person hired for the position will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of process technology, globally across AAD's technology platforms of injection molding, thermoforming, film extruding, hardgoods assembly, liquids/putties/adhesives/aerosols mixing and filling, masking tapes and abrasives.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide leadership to execute global manufacturing and supply chain strategies to achieve business objectives.
Participate in strategic plan development and deployment for the business. Consults with leadership team to set long-term strategic direction and operating plans for significantly complex manufacturing operations.
Interprets industry trends, customer requirements, and business objectives to define guidelines/methods across multiple functions.
Manage and drive improvement for the extended value streams including contract manufacturers.
Providing direction and coaching to plant leadership for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), quality, supply chain, operational costs and new product scale up. Support and create a vision for operations entitlement through lean six sigma methodology with all assigned manufacturing locations globally. Initiates and approves projects to continuously improve efficiency and competitiveness. Creates solutions for highly complex and multi-faceted problems, which require ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.
Provide leadership, coaching, and overall direction for the manufacturing technology engineers regarding, quality improvement, cost reduction, process technology development, New Product Introduction (NPI), localization, and source of supply decision making.
Responsible for process and equipment assessment and optimization.
Develops new product and process technology to contribute to disruptive technology development.
Leads global manufacturing analysis and sourcing optimization.
Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing/production leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, Business or related discipline from an accredited institution
Minimum of seven (7) years of management experience in engineering and/or production in a manufacturing (operations) or production operations environment
Previous experience at multiple manufacturing sites at various leadership levels including plant management
Proven track record of managing a manufacturing or technical organization to achieve operational objectives on EHS, Quality, Service & Inventory and Factory Cost
Experience in a technical supervision and/or team leadership role
Experience in a Global matrixed structured organization, international assignment
Former Black Belt (BB), Master Black Belt (MBB) and/or other Quality Improvement certification/experience
Experience with Enterprise Relationship Planning (ERP) software (e.g. SAP)
Five (5) years of experience with Supply Chain Management principles
Comprehensive knowledge of 3M's global strategy, business areas, structure and organization, as well as an understanding of current industry trends applies to internal applicants only
Strong track record of delivering results
Proficient in multiple languages (e.g. English, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, etc.)
Experience in the Automotive/Automotive Aftermarket Industry with familiarity of market, quality regulations and/or technologies
Proven skills in team-building, coaching, change management, motivation
Excellent communications skills (oral, written and presentation) with the corresponding ability to influence at all levels
Microsoft Office proficient, SAP a plus
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation: Is authorized
