Global Key Accounts Manager - Research Solution Sales
Are you a strategic sales leader and have experience Key Account Management that sell into major Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies? This position sells into a select set of the top global Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies and manages those strategic client relationships. At Elsevier we work as a team. As the Global Key Account Manager, you will be overseeing the strategic growth of business within the accounts among our most important Key Accounts. You will be working and coordinating with new business Solutions Sales Managers, product Customer Consultants, and professional services Consultants, who will support you in generating new business, renewal sales, and customer satisfaction within these Pharma/ Biotech Key accounts.
Oversee the global sales strategy of Elsevier's Core Journals and Life Sciences solutions to select Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies
Responsible for overall sales/revenue of the Elsevier Core and Life Sciences portfolio: planning, strategy, execution and market Intelligence, renewal, new business development, solution implementation and customer retention
Lead, manage change and effectively implement global initiatives among across the Key Account
Liaison with Marketing to influence product and marketing execution to advance sales
Develop and maintain product champions within each region
Leader in large negotiations
3-5 years of proven success in Key Account Management consisting of strategic sales representatives, selling complex products, ideally into life science R&D accounts
Successful sales track record calling on executive level decision makers at large corporate accounts with experience in high level negotiations
Background in consultative "solution selling" with major accounts
Experience working with, or in research would be helpful
Background in biology, chemistry, pharmacology or bioinformatics is helpful
Experience selling information and/or software would be helpful
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required
Excellent presentation skills
Fluent in English
Ability to motivate and inspire others; positive attitude is a must
