Anticipated Duration and Hours:
This internship will commence in Spring 2020 and will last approximately 3-4 months. Based upon business need, if both the Leader and Student are agreeable, the internship may be extended. Hours worked per week are 40.
Skills / prior experience required:
Experience and skills can be varied. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of IT and project delivery.
The candidate will collaborate with IT professionals (Manufacturing and Supply Chain Infrastructure and Applications) on project delivery; doing the right things, the right way. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 a plus but not required. Knowledge or experience of data visualization capabilities in tools such as Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
Project Objective / Business Justification:
The objective of this opportunity will be to leverage current educational content in real world scenarios in terms of IT project and capabilities delivery.
There are two key areas of focus:
Working with leadership to support: New Plant IT Infrastructure, Plant Security Patching, Plant Hardware Lifecycle Programs, and various organizational support functions. Collaborating with the IT and Global Process Engineering Departments to support various innovation initiatives. Includes collation of data, data analysis, documentation management, and asset lifecycle (inventory, asset, CMDB)
This work brings exposure to the IT methodologies for project delivery, to collaboration between IT & its Customers, and to interactions between IT and 3rd party partners. The ideal candidate will engage with Brambles Employees on IT projects as an equal contributing member and will develop skills & techniques directly applicable to their careers.
What will student learn from this experience?
The intern will be treated as a professional hire and will gain experience in a robust, global business environment. Time will be allocated to coaching & mentoring, answering questions, listening, and relationship building.
They will be given the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. They will learn how to apply critical thinking skills in problem identification and data analysis, and in recognizing the implications of decisions.
