ABB Power Grid is seeking a Global IT Architect for Service for its Raleigh, NC location. We are looking for an experienced IT Architect with strong leadership skills and proven IT architecture experience. Your responsibilities

  • Work closely together with all stakeholders regarding expectations, business and technical requirements, and develop and maintain target application architectures in accordance with Group IT policies, procedures and guidelines

  • Understand and apply business economic considerations to the (development of) the target application architecture and corresponding roadmaps for the application portfolio.

  • Analyze and understand technology, innovation and market trends, and determine their potential impact and relevance to the PG Business.

  • Through the IT enterprise application architecture enable and guide the PG Business to invest in the right and appropriate IT technologies and software platforms which help to standardize the IT environment, reduce operational cost and create value for the business

  • Guide and coordinate the relevant Solution Architects to ensure consensus-based enterprise solutions that are aligned with IT technology, platform and application architecture roadmaps.

  • Be directly or indirectly involved in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that steer the selection, development, implementation and use of IT applications within the company.

  • Contributes to work on full inter-operability between the various business application architecture domains as well as the other enterprise architecture domains and Information Security

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 10+ years of experience with Service Applications, Application development & management processes, Solution/ Enterprise Architecture management, ideally related to: Channel and customer service, sales of services, service delivery (including field service & workforce management and installed base management) based on applications like Salesforce, Apttus and custom developed solutions.

  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.

  • Master's degree is a plus.

  • Experience to translate business requirements into IT capabilities and solutions

  • Experience in global project planning and execution, system management and systems life cycles

  • Experience in leading IT people, who do not report to you directly

  • Experience in objectively evaluating solutions and making recommendations

  • Fluent English language and good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with business and IT stakeholders, including senior management

  • Preferred knowledge and experience: enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), application integration (e.g. MuleSoft, Biztalk), analytics and data management
