RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Goldman Sachs is looking for an individual with strong computational and data engineering skillsets and a keen interest in economics to join the Commodities Research team in our Global Investment Research (GIR) division. This is a full-time position as a Business Analyst in Salt Lake City to join the Energy group which focuses on quantitatively developing forecasting models across energy markets - including demand supply and prices - as well as framing the ongoing energy transition. As alternative data is becoming the new standard, this individual will help us manage increasingly large and complex datasets and models.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data gathering and database construction/maintenance
Data processing, analysis and modeling
Fundamental research with contribution to written reports
Communication of research views with internal and external clients, from corporates to investors
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in computer science, data engineering, statistics, economics or other quantitative field of study
Strong analytical background with advanced programming skills (Python / R / SQL) and experience in data engineering, database design, and data science / analytics (AWS, Apache Spark/Airflow)
An enthusiastic researcher/model builder with a proven capability for original and differentiated research
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to interact with global stakeholders
Ability to work in a team-based environment and adapt to a dynamic organization
