The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As the Global Integrated Media Manager

  • Activation you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by driving global integrated media activation to advance and protect 3M corporate brand and reputation on a global scale. Scope includes:

Global Integrated Media

  • Activation Strategy
  • Lead global communication programs that advance 3M's brand and reputation goals with key stakeholders in priority geographies through integrated paid, owned, earned and shared media.

  • Design audience-centric, digital-first approach to always-on and campaign communications activation.

  • Establish cross-functional working processes with global Brand, PR/Communications, Events/Sponsorships and other partner teams.

  • Implement a global measurement plan, identifying key KPIs and benchmarks for global scorecards and decision-making.

  • Serve as the global lead for campaign activation planning, driving thought leadership for integrated media.

Global Integrated Media

  • Operations
  • Always On:

  • Build a center-out global social media approach to drive engagement and advocacy with stakeholder groups across prioritized geographies, leveraging organic social publishing, community management, paid media, influencers and employee advocates.

  • Oversee the editorial planning, content creation and publishing for 3M's always-on social media program. Drive ongoing alignment with partner teams on editorial, managing the ongoing content calendar to maximize external relevance and moments that matter. Ensure content is rooted in audience insight, reflects 3M brand purpose and resonates within the external cultural/societal backdrop.

  • Campaign:

  • Collaborate with global partners across Brand, Communications, and Events/Sponsorships to plan integrated campaign plans that maximize paid, earned, shared and owned media to advance brand awareness, familiarity, favorability, and trust with key stakeholder groups.

  • Steward target audience media behavior research and addressability; ensure audience-centric approach to campaign planning and advise on ways to maximize audience impact across multiple campaigns running throughout the year.

  • Oversee the strategy development and operations of effective and efficient cross-channel media plans (digital, social, TV, audio, OOH, web, content publisher partnerships, etc.), ensuring right media mix, audience targeting, brand safety/suitability, user experience design and media measurement.

Team, Agency & Budget Management

  • Supervise team of full time and contract employees and provide coaching for international counterparts.

  • Oversee agency relationships including paid media, social media and influencer agencies.

  • Oversee global budgets.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Ten (10) years of experience in communications or marketing for a large brand, agency or news media/publisher

  • Five (5) years of experience managing advertising, social media, or public relations

  • Five (5) years of experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders throughout a large organization

  • Five (5) years of experience managing agency partners and/or internal teams with direct reports

  • Three (3) years of experience collaborating with global teams; including experience working with global markets on campaigns and operations, effectively striking the right balance between centralized and localized operations

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Comfortable as a thought leader and experienced presenter, articulating complex ideas simply

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven success building relationships across all levels, internally and externally, including influencing senior decision makers throughout the organization

  • Experience influencing without authority, especially in a virtual, global environment

Location: Maplewood, MN or Remote

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic & international

The Paid Media Manager is an individual contributor who will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop various forms of consumer-facing paid marketing campaigns (specifically in Digital Media) designed to change the perception of consumers and spark action. Simply put, this role needs someone who can excel at these three things: * Be a strategic, collaborative partner/consultant - most of this work will be developing digital media buying strategies based on the marketing objectives of our internal partners. You're the subject matter expert when it comes to media buys. * Be organized and timely - when the plan is in place, work with internal and external partners to execute, optimize, and report. * Be a data-driven marketer - use data and consumer insights to develop campaigns, suggest content, and recommend targeting and tactics, then use more data to report on outcomes, optimize, iterate, and improve. Collaboration with Brand, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Social Media, Web/Digital, Analytics, Communications, and other Global teams will also be critical to ensure all efforts drive the strongest consumer discovery and engagement. Responsibilities: * Brainstorm and develop paid media solutions to marketing needs and objectives (how to measure, how to engage, how to present information, etc). * Work with internal creative services, external agencies, and specialized media buying partners to develop paid marketing campaigns in numerous formats for numerous paid marketing channels. * Keep projects on target, on budget, and on time, ensuring quality deliverables that achieve stated business/marketing objectives. * Bring new ideas and projects to life on a regular basis - both short and long lead. * Work closely with the larger Brand & Media Team, respective business and marketing leads, and cross-functional teams to develop campaigns. * Create and use campaign reports to deliver actionable insights and key learnings for constant and iterative campaign improvement. Qualifications: * 5+ years in paid digital marketing or related field. * Enthusiasm and positivity is a MUST! * Experience with Google Ads and/or SA360/DV360, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Ads Manager and Google Analytics. * Comfortable reviewing, analyzing, and presenting campaign reporting. * Willing to step out of comfort zone to provide insights and recommendations. * Strong project management and organizational skills. * Strong ability to work closely within a team structure and prioritize and manage time effectively. * Has a passion and intellectual curiosity for all things digital and emerging technologies.
