HOW YOU WILL DO IT

As our Global HLA Process Engineer, you will provide real-time expertise on assigned manufacturing processes. In this role, you will provide technical direction on materials, methods and equipment while serving as a key resource for Site Engineering and implementation of Global best practices.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Support development on new and existing customer projects and RFQ's globally.

  • Lead new and existing process development, implementation, and controls in support of Plexus and customer specific needs at the site.

  • Mentor and train individuals globally in various processes, required tools, and philosophies.

  • Lead monitoring, auditing and reporting of site processes through use of metrics.

  • Lead implementation of user group standards across the sites globally and support user group projects on specific processes as required.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical direction and leadership across site/regions to drive/lead best practices and continuous improvement projects, keep abreast of new technology and develop innovative solutions

  • Actively participate in industry standard development.

  • Drive systemic improvement to have break thought in processing method.

  • Engage with customer on capability development to support customer need

  • Establish, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure reliable, productive, and quality results

  • Qualify and recommend manufacturing process material, equipment and method for global PCBA/back-end mechanical assembly process solution within the organization

  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of the quality system, development of corrective actions, planning of continuous improvements, and supporting the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) to ensure Plexus consistently provides high quality services

  • Support quote team for new business opportunity

  • Be subject matter expert on HLA/system integration

  • Train and mentor process engineers in respective fields

  • Manage supplier to ensure service support and roadmap development meet Plexus expectations

  • Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 25%).

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Master's degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred.

  • Master/ Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics with 5 years of related working experience in HLA/System integration.

  • Global experience is highly desirable

  • IPC 620 and GD&T certifications are highly desirable

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT As a Global Commodity Manager you will: Ensure optimized usage of our preferred supplier base focusing on lowest total cost of ownership and customer satisfaction. You will define and execute the sourcing strategy for commodity families assigned and guide its implementation. We are open to location for this role as travel will be required to engage with your supply base. HOW YOU'LL DO IT Key Job Accountabilities: * Ensure the commercial and cost savings benefits are realized at the P&L level and drive the commodity via a P&L structure to achieve targeted net parts margin. * Identify opportunities for operational excellence and cost saving within the commodity families assigned to achieve established cost reduction targets. * Steer the negotiations of contracts. Aim to achieve the best purchasing conditions for material at preferred suppliers to arrive at desired spend and working capital improvements. * Demonstrate an effective global supply strategy for assigned commodity, measured by lowest total cost of ownership, enabled by supplier segmentation, development and management. * Be a key escalation point of contact for shortages to prevent revenue shortfall or customer dissatisfaction. * Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. Additional Accountabilities: * Maintain Sourcing and Material Costing roadmap, value stream map and opportunity funnel. * Work with quoting team to win business for competitive bid. * Ensure supplier contracts are in place and enforced with applicable language to limit risk. * Interface with Plexus' Customer Management teams and functions within Supply Chain to identify customers' needs and support their supply chain strategies. * Drive improvement in the key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with regional and corporate goals. * Is accountable for continuous supplier management (e.g. follow-up on escalated contract violations, phase-in and phase-out of suppliers). * Understand the current component market conditions and effectively communicate it with Plexus and our customers. * Proactively develop executive level supplier relationship that result in Plexus achieving competitive costs, terms and availability of supply in all market conditions. * Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 25%). WHAT WE VALUE Education/Experience Qualifications: * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred. * Seven (7) years of related experience is preferred; One (1) or more years is highly desirable. * Experience within various commodity families such as Interconnects, Passives and Electromechanical (IP&E), Semiconductors, and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Hydraulics, Robotics, Thin- Film Transistor Displays, Micro-Electronics, etc. * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
