Why this role is important to us

GCF is seeking a Global Head of Private Credit and CLO Lending, responsible for management of a ~$10B and growing Private Credit/CLO portfolio and leading a team of subject matter experts who originate, structure, negotiate and execute financing solutions for the world's leading asset managers. This team works in close collaboration with both the Bank's relationship management group and the second line of defense to achieve its goals.

The Boston-based position, reports to the SVP of Private Credit, Corporate Credit, Muni Finance, and Stable Value Wrap and is a member of the senior leadership team, and as such will play an important role in influencing GCF's overall strategic and product direction. The applicant should have significant private credit experience and CLO/Structured Products experience and an understanding of State Street's role, value proposition, visibility, evolving client needs and industry developments in the Private Credit and CLO markets.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing, global team working with strategic clients to drive cross sell opportunities

  • Work with colleagues in Relationship Management to identify and progress client opportunities through product education, identification of solutions to meet client needs

  • Work with colleagues across GCF products to deliver consistent and crisp messaging and a coordinated and collaborative approach to client management and revenue generation

  • Develop multi-year strategic plans to marry Bank's risk appetite and growth strategy with a focus on balance sheet optimization

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding and focus on risk excellence in managing a portfolio of complex credit and legal risk associated with the private credit and CLO lending portfolios; communicate with impact with regulators

  • Work extensively with the second line of defense to establish policy and risk appetite and ongoing surveillance of the underlying portfolio; ensure sound risk, conduct and controls to support sustainable performance

  • Drive opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies and execution

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Private Credit / Structured Product, with a proven track record and experience in driving and closing complex transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze risks and benefits of different courses of action - ensure that solutions fall within State Street's risk appetite

  • Builds trust and collaborates with key internal stakeholders through excellent communication skills and ability to work as One State Street

  • Strong knowledge and network of key contacts in the industry

  • Ability to operate effectively across markets globally

  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of pro-active, transparent and constructive relationships

Salary Range:

$175,000 - $287,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
