The Translational Informatics (TI) department in the Translational Medicine Early Development (TI-TMED) platform at Sanofi is searching for a new global head of the Clinical Data Analytics (CDA) team. The global head of CDA will lead a team of 5-10 scientists from various disciplines (e.g. data scientist, programmer, biostatistics).

About the Department:

Our department is focusing on modeling and simulation approaches that aid critical decision making throughout the various phases of drug development. Our mission "turning data into knowledge to support decisions" is based on three cornerstones: (1) quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling and drug disease modeling providing mechanistic understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacology, (2) clinical data analytics providing meta-analysis on comparator data, but also exploring machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches on clinical and real world data to better understand patients and their responds to pharmacological treatments, (3) clinical trial simulation integrating model-based and mechanistic knowledge to inform, de-risk and (where possible) replace clinical trials.

The responsibilities of the head of CDA will include:

  • Establishing and providing leadership to global Clinical Data Analytics group (CDA) in TMED-TI with focus of providing state-of-the-art clinical data analysis, ranging from traditional statistical approaches (e.g. model-based and network based meta-analysis) to artificial intelligence and deep learning (AI&DL) approaches (e.g. RNN)

  • Manage all activities and internal resources, including science, project issues, staff and budgets

  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with other modeling groups within Translational Informatics, as well as with biostatisticians and pharmacometricians outside of TI.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners (e.g. CRO) to coordinate the planning and execution of day to day deliverables

  • Maintain a keen awareness of developments in data technologies, analytics, methods and systems especially for AI&DL approaches and analysis of data from wearable devices

  • Evaluate and coordinate academic collaborations and outsourcing partners (CROs) in area of application of AI&DL for clinical data analysis and for analysis of data from wearable devices

  • Updating and reporting of relevant results to stakeholder

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong record of accomplishments and experience in data analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experiences in application of AI&DL approaches would be a strong plus

  • Experience in Phase 1, 2, and 3 drug development. Contributions to regulatory submissions

  • Strong methodological capabilities and broad clinical experience across different stages of the drug development preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and demeanor to spearhead implementation of novel methodologies

  • A change agent with a combination of business, technology, and diplomatic skills, deep knowledge of statistical methods, clinical data analytics and clinical trial simulation

KSQ has a robust pipeline of preclinical discovery programs and was founded in 2015.<br> <br> </p> <p><strong>The Role<br> Head of Oncology Clinical Development</strong></p> <p> KSQ is in search of a talented “physician scientist” with strong oncology skills to serve as the therapeutic area lead for our Oncology portfolio. In this high-visibility role, you will be the global “face and voice” of Oncology both internally and externally for the company, interact directly with the C-level, and lead clinical development strategies from initial translation to pivotal studies and ultimately through regulatory approval. <br><br> </p> <p>The person in this role will successfully:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the basic sciences to provide a clinical perspective into drug discovery efforts, pipeline prioritization, biomarker selection, pre-clinical PK/PD and toxicology assessments. </li> <li>Develop the initial translational strategy for each indication. </li> <li>Direct and oversee the design and implementation of all clinical projects focused on Oncology.</li> <li>Help develop our global regulatory strategy and be a key member of the team representing the program in front of global regulatory agencies. </li> <li>Prepare or assist in the preparation of various official and regulatory documents, for FDA and other regulatory agencies, such as Dossiers, NDAs, INDs, Safety and Annual reports, and handling of responses to official questions about complex safety or efficacy issues.</li> <li>Monitor study implementation and execution, leading the analyses and data evaluation process for progress reporting and presentations to C-Suite, senior leadership and Board of Directors, when appropriate. </li> <li>Work with biostatisticians, key opinion leaders/experts, clinical trial investigators and internal regulatory partners to implement protocols/studies and regulatory submissions.</li> <li>Attend public speaking engagements, including but not limited to:<ul> <li>Presentation of data at regional and national advisory boards;</li> <li>Conducting site visits and hospital lectures;</li> <li>Presentation of company and data at financial forums;</li> <li>Regular interactions with key medical opinion leaders</li> </ul> </li> <li>Initiate and oversee the safety reporting system for accountable company products to ensure that Serious Adverse Events are properly reported.</li> <li>Ensure the quality and validity of scientific and medical content relating to all clinical programs.</li> <li>In partnership with the KSQ's Leadership Team, develop strategies and implementation plans that achieve the Company's overall goals.
