As we continue our growth and market leadership, Calabrio is expanding its marketing leadership team. We are seeking a Global Head of Business Development to lead a core marketing and demand generation function that includes account analysis, account-based targeting, conversion of inbound leads to qualified sales opportunities, and outbound demand generation leading to qualified sales opportunities. This role will manage a global team, with manager-level direct reports in the US and UK.

Our Global Head of Business Development will also develop a global training function, or BDR Academy. Reporting to Calabrios chief marketing officer, this role will be a key member of the marketing leadership team and will work closely with peers leading our Core Marketing, Product Marketing and Partner Management functions.

The ideal candidate has 10 or more years of experience leading marketing, business development, or sales functions and experience leading global teams of 25-75 people. We are seeking someone with direct experience working with BDR or SDR teams, recruiting and developing high performing teams, and delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced, high growth environment. In addition to top tier business development skills, were also looking for a world-class leader with a passion for getting the most from their teams.

Given the high profile of this position within the company, the ideal candidate must have a strong executive presence, the ability to collaborate across functions, and exceptional communications skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Translate Calabrios goals into effective business development campaigns to support the achievement of quarterly and annual goals
  • Build, inspire, and lead a BDR organization that delivers against inbound and outbound opportunity goals, with clearly defined roles, career paths, succession plans, and employee success strategies
  • Ensure the BDR function succeeds through successful cross-collaboration with Product Marketing, Sales, Product, and core Marketing leadership
  • Create the BDR Academy with a focus on BDR onboarding as well as ongoing BDR training to improve individual skills, career paths, and campaign outcomes
  • Develop, measure, and optimize programs to ensure BDR activities are effective, efficient, and demonstrate ROI

We're looking for:

  • Strong understanding of modern B2B selling and marketing strategies
  • Experience across demand generation and business development functions, including campaign/sales messaging, data analysis, list management, and account-based targeting programs
  • Experience with sales and marketing automation systems, including,, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and others
  • Proven track record of hiring, mentoring and retaining world-class talent
  • Ability to organize, remain productive, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have an immediate impact in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Must be a creative, flexible, hands-on leader thats comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get the job done


  • Bachelors degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years of business development, sales, or marketing experience; experience with software as a service or other software solutions a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a high-growth environment
