Northrop Grumman Defense Services is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanic- Level 2 to support aircraft modifications on RQ-4 (UAV)aircraft at our Warner Robins, GA site. As a Level 2 Mechanic, you will perform a variety of operations as a structures professional, and become part of a small team of mechanics in order to complete the taskings assigned. Work is done in accordance with established operating procedures.

Job duties:

Interpret complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft.

Perform part-fitting operations such as mounting brackets and stand-offs, burring, crimping, trimming, riveting, drilling, and reaming on the air vehicle.

Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and locations to be attached.

Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Work as part of a team and be able to coordinate with each other, supervision, program office, engineering, and Quality to ensure compliance with installation drawings for internal sign-offs and quality specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

1.High School diploma or equivalent.

2.A minimum of 5 years' structures/sheet metal experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.

3.Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and working overhead.

4.Ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.

5.Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints and drawings.

6.Ability to translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools.

7.Ability to align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.

8.Ability to perform part-fitting and installation operations: mounting brackets/stand-offs, burring, crimping, trimming, riveting, drilling, and reaming on an aircraft.

9.Ability to obtain/maintain access to work at our Warner Robins, GA site.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.Air Force aircraft maintenance experience.

2.FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

3.An Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years.

4.Experience with RQ-4 Global Hawk or other UAV aircraft and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps and stabilizers.

This position will support aircraft modifications on RQ-4 (Global Hawk) aircraft at our Warner Robins, GA site. This team will complete the taskings assigned by the Modification Manager. Your duties will require you to: Complete all work in accordance with established procedures and work specs. Interpret complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft. Perform part-fitting operations, such as burring, crimping, trimming, riveting, drilling, and reaming using drawings and 3-D diagrams. Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and locations to be attached. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Work as part of a team and coordinate with teammates, supervision, program management, quality, and engineering to ensure compliance with installation drawings for internal sign-offs and quality specifications. Basic Qualifications: 1. An Associate's degree in an appropriate technical discipline and six (6) years of specialized experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. 2. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. 3. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance. 4. Ability to obtain/maintain access to work at our Warner Robins, GA site. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P). 2. Working knowledge of MES. 3. Air Force aircraft maintenance (UAV) experience. 4. Working knowledge of AFI 21-101.
