The Global Business Analysis and Information team has an opportunity for a Global Forecasting Director. This individual will lead the development and communication of forecasts for: 1) key cardiovascular, bone, and metabolic pipeline products and 2) life cycle management opportunities for cardiovascular, bone, and metabolic marketed products.

Specifically, this person will:

  • Develop the forecast models based on key assumptions and in collaboration and agreement with global marketing and product strategy teams

  • Effectively lead collaboration and partnership with brand leadership; regional forecasting teams; access, pricing and reimbursement teams; R&D/epidemiology and other cross- functional teams who provide data and/or assumptions for the forecast

  • Perform analyses and assessments of market size, penetration, market dynamics, etc. that lead to potential worldwide forecasts

  • Synthesize and incorporate findings based on triangulation of multiple sources

  • Ensure translation of key insights, patient journey and other critical information into product forecasts

  • Ensure implementation, collaboration and communication of global forecasts to all key functions and regions impacted by the forecast

  • Present forecasts to product strategy teams, review boards and senior management

  • Identify and communicate key risks and uncertainties of forecasts

  • Engage actively with global marketing leadership to ensure best forecasting practices are followed

  • Translate and elevate forecasts at senior levels and push back on thinking where appropriate, given robust understanding of forecast drivers

  • Develop forecasting team capabilities via training and mentorship

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

OR

Master's degree and 7 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 9 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with quantitative techniques including smoothing, regression, time series analysis, and simulation

  • Cardiovascular, bone or metabolic disease area experience

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Strong project management skillsable to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time

  • Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client service orientation

  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and retain staff

  • Good understanding of the latest developments in the biopharmaceutical industry, and unmet medical needs and opportunities in the assigned therapeutic area

  • Broad, working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions

  • Background and demonstrated understanding of global markets

For the launch of one of the Amgen heart failure assets an in vitro drug (IVD) plasma test will be required. This role will support the executive director global marketing, heart failure, in developing the global commercial recommendation for the launch of the IVD. Responsibilities include: * Partner with the headquarters and archetype countries to develop an Amgen perspective on the commercial launch strategy and launch plan for the IVD * Conduct a thorough analysis of the IVD landscape in the US, China, Japan and Canada * Work very closely with the New Product Development Leads (NPDLs) in archetype countries to ensure region needs for the IVD are met * Develop a "go to market commercial recommendation" for the IVD so it ultimately optimizes the uptake of the heart failure pharmaceutical product * Provide input into the IVD and heart failure dosing components of the Target Test Profile (TPP) and Target product label (TPL) * Assimilate Amgen commercial input on the IVD for discussion with alliance partners * Serve as a source of IVD knowledge on the appropriate launch and availability of the drug plasma test in each major market. * Engage with Global Value Access & Policy to ensure access and commercialization of the IVD is aligned with optimizing the pharmaceutical product sales * Support in developing the launch governance documents Expected travel (domestic and international) is 20% Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience, including 1 year of IVD/ diagnostic experience OR Master's degree and 7 years of marketing experience, including 1 year of IVD/ diagnostic experience OR Bachelor's degree and 9 years of marketing experience, including 1 year of IVD/diagnostic experience Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree and 4+ years of cumulative experience in a companion diagnostic company Experience launching a companion diagnostic product in a biotech/pharmaceutical company Experience in a Strategic Regional Marketing or Global Marketing Cardiovascular therapeutic area or chronic care product experience Excellent written and verbal communications skills Knowledge of and experience in successfully launching an IVD Strategic thinking and analytical skills Ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion Strong leadership skills, including ability to influence teams with diverse backgrounds Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, experience producing business results, and outstanding organizational skills Act as a role model for others in line with Amgen values Amgen provides a collaborative and creative culture in a company with a strong track record of innovation.
