The Global Forecasting Director will lead the development and communication of forecasts for: 1) key bone, inflammation and nephrology pipeline products and 2) life cycle management opportunities for bone, inflammation and nephrology marketed products.

Specifically, this person will:

  • Develop the forecast models based on key assumptions and in collaboration and agreement with global marketing and product strategy teams

  • Lead collaboration and partnership with brand leadership; regional forecasting teams; access, pricing and reimbursement teams; R&D/epidemiology and other cross functional teams who provide data and/or assumptions for the forecast

  • Perform analyses and assessments of market size, penetration, market dynamics, etc that lead to potential worldwide forecasts

  • Synthesize and incorporate findings based on triangulation of multiple sources

  • Ensure translation of key insights, patient journey and other critical information into product forecasts

  • Ensure implementation, collaboration and communication of global forecasts to all key functions and regions impacted by the forecast

  • Present forecasts to product strategy teams, review boards and senior management

  • Identify and communicate key risks and uncertainties of forecasts

  • Engage actively with global marketing leadership to ensure best forecasting practices are followed

  • Translate and elevate forecasts at senior levels and push back on thinking where appropriate, given robust understanding of forecast drivers

  • Develop forecasting team capabilities via training and mentorship

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

OR

Master's degree and 7 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 9 years of forecasting and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with quantitative techniques including smoothing, regression, time series analysis, and simulation

  • Bone, inflammation or nephrology disease area experience

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Strong project management skillsable to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time

  • Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client service orientation

  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams

  • Good understanding of the latest developments in the biopharmaceutical industry, and unmet medical needs and opportunities in the assigned therapeutic area

  • Broad, working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions

  • Background and demonstrated understanding of global markets

The Sr. Manager will work with the Commercial BD Directors across all therapeutic areas to develop data-driven and insightful commercial analyses in support of external licensing and acquisition opportunities. The Sr. Manager will have two main areas of focus: 1) Accessing analytical data from multiple sources, generating insights from the data and developing forecast inputs in collaboration with the Commercial BD Directors. 2) Developing forecast models for external opportunities, appropriate for the stage of the deal and consistent with internal forecasting standards. The Sr. Manager will work in teams within an established matrix organization, including the Commercial Business Development Directors, Global Marketing Therapeutic Area (TA) Heads, Franchise Strategy Committees, Global Value Payer & Access Leads, Product Teams, Business Units, Global and Regional BAI, Region BD contacts and the Corporate Strategy & Business Development Team. The Sr. Manager will report to the Commercial Business Development Leader with a dotted line reporting relationship to the BAI forecasting group. Key responsibilities: Develop Commercial Assessments of External Opportunities * Conduct desk research to gain a strong understanding of the market and product opportunity. * Collaborate with Business Analysis and Insights, Global Value & Access, Center for Observational Research, Clinical R&D, Global Regulatory Affairs & Safety, Finance and other functions to develop robust forecast inputs for commercial assessments that facilitate decision making. * Provide an objective and informed point of view on the forecasting model required for each project to achieve right fit for deal stage. * Develop forecast models and outputs for Business Development projects across all therapeutic areas that reflect an understanding of disease area, unmet need, market trends and evolution, asset profile, competitive landscape and lifecycle programs. * Ensure consistency of regional forecasts and planning assumptions across global forecasts. * Manage Business Development projects through rapid cycle time turn-around. * Explain modeling assumptions and triangulate assumptions with other data and relevant forecasting models. * Coordinate with finance and BAI teams globally, according to deal stage, to develop forecasting outputs. * Manage vendors from a project management and timeline execution focus to develop key forecasts either for Business Development, when internal capacity exceeded. Implement the Commercial BD Process * Comply with record keeping requirements and archiving of documents. * Communicate regularly with Commercial BD team on BD process and sharing of best practices.
