Job Description:

Portfolio Managers drive a rigorous research process combined with advanced quantitative analysis to make informed risk decisions. Successful Portfolio Managers are able to build and manage a team of Associate Portfolio Managers and Traders to trade strong and dynamic portfolios while working closely with other Portfolio Managers and team members within the Global Fixed Income team and other parts of the firm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a clear, disciplined and sustainable investment process that produces strong ideas

  • Manage a portfolio of Fixed Income and/or Foreign Exchange instruments in accordance with established trading and risk parameters

  • Collaborate and share market views with other portfolio managers as well as the Head of Global Fixed Income and the COO of Global Fixed Income

  • Partner with the Quantitative Research and Technology team to develop innovative approaches, tools, and techniques for modeling and analyzing markets and instruments

  • Manage and mentor a team of Associate Portfolio Managers and/or Traders

Skillset Requirements

  • Prior experience managing a portfolio of securities, with a proven track record of producing strong risk-adjusted returns

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in computer science, economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, operations research, physics, statistics or a related field

  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, risk measurement/management, and performance attribution techniques

  • Experience hiring top talent, managing, and developing a team.

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment

BlackRock is seeking a candidate to join the Fixed Income Core PM team as a Credit Portfolio Manager. Responsibilities * Manage credit exposure for USD fixed income portfolios within risk tolerances, while complying with client/fund guidelines and restrictions * Participate in market and alpha generation discussions. Assist in market research efforts and contribute to alpha through relative value and portfolio construction * Raise orders to implement and maintain portfolio positioning. Work with Trading to monitor execution * Monitor and invest cash flows resulting from client subscriptions and redemptions * Research and resolve compliance violations due to both active and passive movement * Enhance portfolio management processes. Contribute to development and implementation of portfolio construction and reporting tools * Establish strong business relationships with numerous internal teams (Business Management, BRS, GPAS, BPI, Operations, Compliance, Onboarding, Trading, RQA, etc.) * Work closely with the team's product specialists to ensure smooth onboarding process and account activation for all new mandates and generating reports and analysis for client queries Qualifications * BA/BS required. Progress toward CFA a plus * 2+ years of experience and knowledge of Fixed Income markets strongly desired * Fixed income and general finance knowledge, including an understanding of bond math and risk * Ability to learn fixed income markets, including complexities of different issue types, liquidity, and trading * Ability to grasp quantitative concepts of risk and exposure, and their application to portfolio management * Strong process-oriented background including introduction of controls and procedures.
