Overview

This position works closely with Global Finance teams and management to ensure that Bain's finance systems are efficiently and effectively responding to the needs of a global company. This person plays a significant role in the development, implementation and maintenance of Bain's various finance related systems with a focus on those that interface with Payroll and HR systems.

Responsibilities include the design, development and modification of reports, procedures, and structures that are within the control of Finance as well as modifications and enhancements to systems which require working with external vendors or Bain TSG (IT). This position will participate on upgrade and launch teams of core and supplementary financial systems and support the periodic addition of new offices in adopting Bain's finance applications.

Responsibilities

Lead configuration of new and existing functionality within the Global Finance Systems team:

  • Proactively monitor new features and evaluate improvement opportunities and process changes

  • Work with functional team members to understand requirements and processes, communicate system capabilities/limitations

  • Research, configure, and test new functions, independently or as part of a project team

  • Assist in the creation, rollout and ongoing maintenance of training materials or sessions

Manage reporting needs and integrations:

  • Continuously evaluate and track reporting requests and opportunities to enhance user's experience

  • Create reports requested by business users

  • Support integrations between HR/Payroll systems and Finance Systems

Drive upgrade of Finance team functions:

  • Identify upgrades that may impact current configuration, and improvements to implement

  • Organize and participate in testing and launch

Provide end-user support, diagnose and resolve issues related to business process, security, integration, etc.

Create and organize knowledge base documents, such as; business requirements, system configuration, detailed functional specs, test plans and test cases

Work collaboratively with Global Human Capital (HR) Systems team members

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Business or IT with 3-5 years of progressive experience; CPA or MBA preferred

  • Proven strong logic, analytical and technological skills

  • Prior systems conversion experience required

  • Workday systems knowledge a plus

  • Self starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Demonstrated understanding of core accounting concepts and practices and IT concepts

  • Strong communication skills with a customer service orientation and an ability to work well with all levels of the organization

  • High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
