Job Description:
3M is seeking a Global Fall Protection Specialist for the Personal Safety Division (PSD) located in Maplewood, MN. Here you go.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Global Fall Protection Specialist will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to customers, distributors, 3M personnel, and new product development teams for 3M's PSD's fall protection products. The person hired for this position will be required to split their time between 3M Center in Maplewood, MN and Capital Safety in Red Wing, MN.

Primary Responsibilities:
include but are not limited to the following:

  • Technical service and support of 3M customers, distributors, application engineers, marketing and sales representatives with regards to fall protection equipment.

  • Developing relationships with key accounts, key opinion leaders and relevant trade groups to increase awareness for the need for fall protection while working at heights and in confined spaces, and the proper selection and use of fall protection products.

  • Coordinating International Fall Protection Application engineers, including communicating and training on key initiatives and product information as well as communicating global AE's status and opportunities to the Home Division.

  • Conducting industry presentations, seminars, technical conference presentations on safety while working at height, fall protection technologies, product selection and use and maintenance.

  • Product and New Product Introduction (NPI) involvement including working with cross functional teams to identify and develop products, assisting in product field evaluations, assisting with claim substantiation and developing educational materials including written articles, webinars, seminars, videos, posters, datasheets, and technical data bulletins.

  • Coordination of Global Fall Protection Customer and 3M personnel visits to 3M and Red Wing sites.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

  • Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience working with Fall Protection and/or Occupational Health and Safety products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety or related science discipline from an accredited university

  • Minimum five (5) years of combined experience working in Fall Protection, an Environmental Health and Safety position or administering Fall Protection programs

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communications skills (oral, written and presentation)

  • Customer-focused self-starter who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, with an appropriate sense of urgency

  • Experience working on a global cross-functional team

  • New product commercialization experience

  • Microsoft Office proficient, Minitab a plus

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 40% domestic/international

Relocation: Is authorized

Under general supervision and established procedures, the Asset Protection Detective detects and apprehends shoplifters and dishonest employees. Macy's uses a scheduling plan that allows our associates to participate in the creation of their work schedules by managing availability and identifying preferences. Additionally, during key events and peak selling times, Macy's may offer additional shifts to our associates, which they may pick up using the self-scheduling tool. Essential Functions: * Respond to customer and associate incidents to facilitate first aid and minimize company liability * Recover stolen merchandise and apprehend shoplifters and other people who commit fraud or other criminal acts against the company * Investigate criminal violations against the person or property of any customer or associate that is committed on company premises * Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, audits, and other activities as assigned by the Asset Protection Manager * Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence * Promote shortage awareness and theft deterrence among associates by conducting meetings and participating in training events * Successfully complete all Asset Protection training requirements including CPR and First Aid and maintain personal certifications as required by law * Conduct audits to ensure sales department compliance to merchandise exposure standards and asset protection policies * Testify in court concerning any case, criminal or civil, wherein the company is a party of interest to which the Asset Protection Store Detective is summoned * Works on special assignments, investigations, and surveillance as directed by Store Asset Protection Manager * Responds to alarm conditions at assigned store * Perform other duties as necessary * Follow shortage programs and procedures * Perform these functions in an efficient manner, as directed by the Supervisor * Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality Qualifications: Education/Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent.
