As the Global Director of Hire to Retire (H2R) Accounting, you will be responsible for driving and delivering shareholder value through directing and executing various accounting functions and continuously improving global accounting policies, processes and controls for all employee-related compensation and benefits programs. You will partner with Human Resources (HR), Legal, Tax, Controlling, and financial planning groups around the globe to ensure efficiency, consistency and accuracy. You will strengthen meaningful partnership and influence with HR to ensure accounting and internal controls interests are represented in their day-to-day operations and initiatives.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day Global H2R accounting operations, and work closely with cross-functional counterparts to develop and maintain policies and processes, as needed, to handle new or existing transactional streams

  • Develop and maintain functional, operational and organizational knowledge of the global payroll, benefits and compensation areas

  • Understand strategic priorities of HR and assess alignment with Controlling and Finance

  • Promote a "one team" concept for the end-to-end process between Payroll and Accounting

  • Encourage continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and financial reporting, including promoting automation and development and implementation of accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal control documentation

  • Establish and maintain a thorough H2R accounting governance structure for countries that have enabled the global payroll model to ensure global standardization and maintenance of implemented processes

  • Accountable for preparing and reviewing certain H2R external financial reporting and disclosures in NIKE's SEC filings, as well as preparing the annual financial statements for the NIKE Retirement Plan, and planning and managing the annual audit for the Plan with NIKE's external audit firm

  • Represent Global Controlling on NIKE's Retirement and Incentive Compensation Committees

  • Influence the requirements, design, development and testing of accounting areas for HR payroll and other benefits vendor or administration changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with combination of Big 4 public accounting and corporate accounting at a Fortune 500/multi-national company

  • Public accounting experience and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required

  • Excellent technical foundation of accounting and US GAAP, with proven experience/expertise in employee-related compensation and benefits accounting

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in people leadership roles

  • Experience with SAP strongly preferred

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work in a productive environment

  • Transformative, process-oriented and strategic-thinking mindset

  • Excellent self-motivator with ability to create and deliver solutions despite obstacles or ambiguity

  • High standards for quality and attention to detail

  • Ability to develop and clearly articulate policies and instructions

In support of the Consumer Direct Offense, we are building a Global Logistics & Geo Operations Controlling offense committed to serving various business partners across the supply chain as well as driving effective, efficient, and standardized accounting processes. As the Accounting Director, Global Supply Chain and Inventory, you will be responsible for taking a lead role in the continuous improvement of our inventory and supply chain accounting processes and controls to enable Nike's ongoing growth. You'll also take an active part in representing Controlling to support new business strategies and changes to transaction streams impacting inventory/supply chain accounting, systems, and related reporting. Key responsibilities include: * Engage with Global Operations and Logistics (GOaL), Global Nike Direct, and Global DSM business stakeholders to provide requirements and support new business initiatives (RFID, SIM, BOPIS, geo network strategies, etc.) * Serve as the liaison between Global I+SCC, all Geo leads, and Trading Company to drive and document standardization, continuous improvement/efficiency, and effectiveness of I+SCC owned processes * Partner with Global DSM to: * create supply/demand analysis and forward-looking metrics * create inventory health metrics * link inventory dollars and units as well as understanding Fx in inventory reporting * assess risk, implement controls, and account for various global inventory business processes (diverts, transitions, & GAC date changes) * Partner with GOaL to: * review the accounting for all significant appropriations requests and contracts * provide support and education on various accounting matters * Responsible for critical financial reporting (Balance Sheet Reviews, Financial Statement Reviews, and other monthly/quarterly reporting) for Inventory and COGS * Subject matter expert on Nike's inventory and COS accounting policies * Key control owner for global inventory and COGS processes * Responsible for operationalizing Global Valiant Lab strategies (COGS and Inventory Components) into Global Nike Direct * Be a leader within the larger NIKE Finance and Controlling Organization to develop, embrace, and deliver best practices * Manage two direct reports Nike, Inc.
