Our Medical Affairs team engages with industry leaders and medical experts to share the scientific value of our current and pipeline products. We connect, communicate and train internal employees to ensure we all understand the science behind our medicine.

The Global Director Medical Affairs (GDMA) is responsible for driving execution of scientific & medical affairs plans for their assigned Therapy Areas (TA) in key countries and regions. They are impactful members of Product Development Team sub-teams and Global Human Health commercialization teams. They collaborate with global Commercial, Center of Real-World Evidence (CORE), Policy and Market Access to address opportunities in key countries. They engage with their network of scientific leaders and decision makers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drives execution of the annual scientific & medical plan with medical affairs colleagues from key countries and regions.

  • Is an impactful member of Product Development Team sub-teams (Clinical, Value Evidence, Commercial, Publications and Label) and Global Human Health commercialization teams.

  • Contributes to the development of a single global scientific communications platform.

  • Consolidates actionable medical insights from countries and regions.

  • Engages with a network of international scientific leaders and other key stakeholders (therapeutic guideline committees, payers, public groups, government officials, medical societies) about our Company's emerging science.

  • Organizes global expert input events to answer our Company's questions how to develop and implement new medicines/vaccines: advisory boards and expert input forums.

  • Organizes global symposia and educational meetings.

  • Supports key countries with the development of local data generation study concepts and protocols.

  • Reviews investigator-initiated study proposals from key countries prior to headquarters submission (ex-United States of America).

  • Manages programs (patient support, educational or risk management) to support appropriate and safe utilization of our Company's medicines/vaccines.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • MD, PhD or PharmD (MD highly preferred) and recognized medical/research expertise in emerging respiratory pathogens (e.g., RSV, influenza, human metapneumovirus, SARS-CoV-1, SARS-CoV-2).
Required Experience and

Skills:
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills.

  • In a matrix environment, able to effectively collaborate with partners across divisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication (written as well as oral), in addition to results-oriented project management skills.

Preferred Experience and

Skills:
  • Experience in country / region Medical Affairs or Clinical Development.

  • Background in vaccinology and/or vaccine implementation.

  • Scientific leadership and other key stakeholders (payers, public groups, government officials, medical professional organizations) in the assigned therapeutic area.

VIEW JOBS 5/20/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-18T00:00 Job Description Director, Vaccines Global Marketing - RSV Programs & New Target Strategy The Director, Vaccines Global Marketing New Products, is responsible for driving the creation and execution of the Early Commercial Strategy and will focus on our Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) programs. RSV has a massive scale of impact, similar to flu, and is a leading cause of hospitalizations and outpatient visits among infants and the elderly. In low resource settings, RSV causes ~200,000 deaths annually. The Early Commercial Strategy is focused on ensuring rapid uptake of the vaccine immediately after approval and involves critical planning and execution of pre-launch activities. The New Product Leader will need to lead broad cross-functional collaboration across divisions (Research, Manufacturing and Human Health) and across stakeholder functions including Policy, Medical Affairs, Communications, Vaccine Access, CORE, Pricing, Competitive Intelligence, Global Forecasting, and many others, and will also need to work closely with key country and regional New Product Leaders around the world. This new product leader will sit on the Early Development Team / Product Development Team (EDT / PDT) for the RSV program vaccines. The role will be also responsible for our New Target Strategy, collaborating with a cross functional team on the best disease area targets to focus on for new vaccine development. This is a critical function as vaccines has been squarely established as a growth pillar for our company long term. Primary Responsibilities * Provide critical input into the product profile and clinical program design to ensure product is competitive, can achieve desired access, and has appropriate data to support marketing needs * Providing analytical support and insight generation to inform commercial forecasts, competitive scenario planning and market development work * Oversee the design and development of country-focused market development engagements.
