Overview

The Global UX and Design Senior Manager will lead the digital design strategy and execution for Gallagher's digital properties worldwide. The primary focus is on supporting Gallagher's public-facing B2B and B2C websites, with the design team also contributing to product design and special projects that support the business.

We seek an experienced Design Leader to join our agile team and enhance our customers' digital experiences across Gallagher brands (GallagherRe, RPS, Artex, Gallagher Bassett, and more). The ideal candidate will have a robust portfolio demonstrating their ability to evolve brands and create compelling digital experiences that drive leads. You will advocate for design best practices and provide guidance on them. Your expertise in creating design systems from the ground up, leading a team of designers, and envisioning the evolution of our digital touchpoints will help position Gallagher as an industry leader.

As part of the Digital Experience team within the Corporate Digital Marketing team, we are poised for continued growth and seek a design leader to build a team of designers skilled in UX/UI, prototyping, interaction design, and more, spanning websites to product design.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead and oversee the UX and UI design team, including hiring, growing the team and performance management.

  • Oversee the design process for all brands, conducting design reviews and providing feedback to the design team.

  • Serve as Product Owner for design systems for Gallagher brands, developing and maintaining a roadmap and documentation. Partner with product teams to expand the design system for both product and web needs.

  • Evolve the design and digital experience of our websites, ensuring accessibility standards (minimum Level AA), responsiveness, and global design/language considerations.

  • Lead implementation and use of interactive elements and visual story telling for global content.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (scrum masters, product owners, researchers, brand, dev, marketing, and business stakeholders) to define and execute design projects that meet high-quality standards and align with the overall brand strategy. Lead the design team and agile ceremonies including but not limited to, creating/refining user stories, working with dev team ensuring user interactions are documented, QA and showcasing stories.

  • Communicate and present design ideas and rationale effectively to project teams and stakeholders. Modify designs based on feedback, research, and insights.

  • Stay current with digital trends, tools, and best practices, implementing them to scale.

  • Work remotely and with globally distributed teams, taking on new projects and expanding team capabilities.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience required + 3 years people management experience.

  • Knowledge of current graphic design equipment, tools, and techniques required. Excellent creative and innovative skills.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.

Highly Preferred:

  • 10+ years of experience in design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role and matrixed environment.

  • Strong portfolio highlighting a range of design projects/systems for global B2B and B2C brands (websites and products).

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, Ceros a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with teams (brand, dev, business stakeholders) and efficiently implementing brand guidelines in agile development environments.

  • Validated experience with design systems in Figma and a record of accomplishment of successful implementation and management.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Experience working in a global organization and handling multiple projects.
