IFF's Pharma Solutions division is looking for a team member to help us be the premier partner to our customers, build our future and become one IFF. The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide.

The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette. In applying for this position, you acknowledge your awareness that the position is a part of the Pharma Solutions business unit and has been identified to transition to Roquette.

The IFF Pharma Solutions business produces and sells high-performance cellulose derivatives, alginates and related polymers used for formulations across a broad variety of applications in the Pharmaceuticals, Food, Industrial Specialties and Personal Care markets. The portfolio is a highly profitable part of the company and has shown significant value growth over the last several years. As a global leader we are always looking to add passionate and innovative members to our team.

We are now looking for a motivated individual to join our team as Demand Manager.

"If you can't measure it, you can't improve it" - Peter Drucker. It tends to be the case in business that we can only improve what we measure! The purpose of demand metrics is to measure how effectively we are forecasting, to determine whether our forecasting process is biased and to enable the business to take root cause corrective actions to improve our forecasting results. The goal of the demand management process is to maximize customer satisfaction by enabling the supply chain to produce the products our customers wish to purchase in the timeframe requested, while reducing the costs to do so. In this process, the Demand Manager plays most crucial role.

This position will be based in the US preferred in Wilmington, Delaware office, with some flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for understanding all sources of demand for IFF product(s) within a region.

  • Supervises and develops an accurate demand forecast at the appropriate levels, horizons and intervals.

  • Accountable for monitoring the performance of the Demand process and continually improving output, accuracy and bias. Uses demand performance and other process metrics to determine improvement opportunities.

  • The Demand Manager ensures that Planning data quality, using proactive maintenance techniques, including demand history validation and outlier correction.

  • Coordinates the demand management process for S&OP, working closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Product Line Managers.

  • The Demand Manager supports the business to in prioritize demand in constraint supply situations, to ensure the customer experience is optimized based on sales & marketing strategies.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance customer experience and optimize cost.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline.

  • 5+ years' experience in customer facing roles (e.g. sales, marketing, product management, Supply Chain).

  • Deep understanding how to apply demand planning system capability - statistical forecasting models and algorithms, etc. - to meet the business Demand Planning process requirements. Capable of applying Differentiated Forecast Strategy 4-Quad segmentation model based on business criteria.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships, influence and work effectively within a global team environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required

Preferred Experience:

  • SAP/APO/MyBis experience preferred

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
