Global Customer Quality Engineer Supply Chain

Your Job

The Global Customer Quality Engineer, Supply Chain will handle all quality related matters concerning products imported into US, as well as products sourced from Molex US factories and from Molex suppliers. Interface with the Customer Service organizations in US and, as appropriate, with customers on quality matters. Practice and assist in the utilization of Quality Assurance principles and practices to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Provide internal and external direction and communication necessary to develop and sustain customer confidence in Molex quality performance. Activities include both proactive and reactive components of customer quality relationship management on behalf of Molex.

You will work with the TIS, DSS and CCS divisions, which designs and manufactures an extensive product line serving customers in automotive, telecommunications, datacom, (hyperscale) data center, cloud, and storage applications. You will interact Internally with all levels of the organization and different business units.

What You Will Do

• Provide initial failure analysis based on personnel experience and through supporting from lab or plant.

• Assist in establishing the root cause of problems and to prepare 8D's. Verify the 8D provided by manufacturing plant.

• The quality of the 8D's must be rated in accordance with Molex 8D scoring criteria and send 8D to customer.

• Manage customer portal as applicable.

• Act as the main customer contact for all quality issues on series deliveries:

• Review customer score card:

• Communicate general action plan if needed.

• Analyze customer and defect data in a graphical presentation in MS Excel or Power Point to present to interested personnel.

• The goal of all activities is to improve customer satisfaction.

• Manage nonconformance announcement to customers, with data provided by plants Quality Engineer.

• Obtain cancellation requests from customers and manage cancellation requests when applicable.

• Organize customer sorting at minimum cost:

• Follow up with sorting cost as soon as sorting approvals are received.

• Provide approval to non-quality cost invoices (from customer or sorting company).

• Provide approval for RGA to customers. Manage RGA and returned parts with local RGA assistant and logistic.

• Responsibility for quality during the absence of GCQ Engineer.

• Response time D3-C, D5-C, closing time, and number of open QNs.

• Has all authority to stop production and/or deliveries of non-conformed products.

• Assist in the efficient completion of tasks that contribute to meeting or exceeding department or organizational goals.

• To undertake other duties as requested by management, which are considered to be within the competence of the Post Holder.

• Understand, support and contribute to current International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Graduate, Associates Degree or Technical Experience.

• A minimum of two years' experience in a quality function.

• Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, Global 8D, FMEA ,SPC and inspection techniques.

What Will Put You Ahead

• A technical qualification e.g. in quality principles and practices, some engineering would also be an advantage as will previous experience of the SAP software modules.
