AIG Travel provides a wide array of travel, medical, security and concierge services helping millions of travelers solve problems and manage risk worldwide. The Global Corporate Customer Service Coordinator is the front-line of customer support in coordinating risk mitigation activities that ensure AIG's clients are in the best hands while traveling abroad. You are the heart of the operation and will work with AIG Travel's Medical and Security teams, Travel Desk, and a Leadership team from a wide array of associated career fields, such as Risk Management, Medical, Military, NGO's and Federal agencies.

As a contributor at AIG you are the one the clients turn to in times of need. You act with speed, composure, compassion and knowledge to solve problems and the work you do every day is the heart of AIG's business.

  • Provides telephone and document translation services through applicable providers.

  • Coordinates the management of each clients travel emergencies, flight cancellations, flight delays, trip interruptions and cancellations, baggage delays and similar events in general travel assistance.

  • Provides telephone support and emergency evacuation services in response to client requests.

  • Assists clients in analyzing their requests in order to provide adequate service.

  • Use appropriate resources to provide referrals to clients according to their requests.

  • Provides customer service to insured travelers regarding: policy benefits, verification of coverage, claims and claims information.

  • Makes arrangements for medical evacuation by working with the Provider Network Group (PNG) and the Medical Case Management (MCM) team.

  • Documents the entire management of each case.

  • Monitors the status of patients and regularly reports the situation to the family and / or fellow travelers of the insured.

  • Makes assessments and files claims on behalf of the client.

  • Sends and receives faxes and e-mails, calls via telephone, and supports inbound/outbound SMS communications.

  • Works with and supports PNG by adding and evaluating both new service and existing service providers.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needs arise.

What we are looking for:

  • Fluent (Read, Write, Speak) German, French, Persian, and/or Farsi is preferred

  • English required

  • Contact Center experience is preferred but not exclusive

  • Health care experience is preferred but not exclusive

  • Experience in customer service or dealing directly with customers such as, Airline, Inside/Outside Sales, and Financial Services industries

  • Excellent telephone communication skills and computer skills

  • Excellent verbal and written use of the language

  • Requires basic skills to analyze costs and opt for services

  • Must have a strong orientation to problem solving and a strong ability to find solutions in situations where there is no precedent

  • Ability to work under pressure

KNOWLEDGE: * Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP * Experience with intercompany accounting * Experience in preparing consolidated and stand-alone financial statements * Knowledge of SEC interim and annual reporting requirements * Oracle general ledger accounting knowledge and skillset a plus * Familiarity with the Hyperion Financial Close (smart view) application a plus RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of changing variables. * Identify areas for possible improvements and proactively address problems within scope of responsibilities. * With limited guidance, responsible for working on moderately complex assignments and projects, including but not limited to: * Prepare accounting entries for entities assigned * Review intercompany and third party agreements to ensure compliance * Support Company's Reporting Compliance initiatives by ensuring that accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely * Work with other Accounting groups (AP, Operations Accounting and Financial Reporting) to identify and resolve accounting coding issues * Apply Accounts Receivable receipts for intercompany invoices * Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations * Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits * Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues requiring explanations and interpretation * Assist Manager to develop and/or re-design processes to record transactions at proper stand-alone entity level * Monitor, participate in and enhance formal processes for internal controls surrounding Intercompany processes to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements * Coordinate and effectively communicate accounting matters with various departments throughout the organization * Additional assignments as assigned by the Intercompany Accounting Manager QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS): * Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. CPA designation or actively pursuing a CPA license is required for this role. * Experience: Three to five years of applicable experience in accounting roles with extensive experience in intercompany and financial reporting areas * Skills: * Experience with Oracle, Advanced Global Intercompany System (AGIS) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is highly preferred * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with all levels of the organization * Effective time management skills and detailed oriented * Ability to think critically and independently * Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy * Ability to work effectively on short notice and off hours as required * Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) DIRECT REPORTS: None FREEDOM TO ACT: Operates independently within approved guidelines, and with minimum supervision; delivers pertinent information in a timely manner to superiors and to management.
