Role Summary:

Support the consolidation & closing process for the $20B Healthcare segment, ensuring complete & accurate consolidation of GE Healthcare's financial results. Supports the efforts to deconsolidate the Healthcare segment from the General Electric consolidation, collaborating with the Corporate Controllership & International Transactions teams, Tax & Treasury to strategically unwind the shared legal entity structure & intercompany balances in anticipation of the Healthcare spin off.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Healthcare controllership contract in efforts to modularize the GE Healthcare legal entity structure and deconsolidate from the General Electric consolidation.

  • Coordinate cross functionally to ensure flawless execution of all step plans associated w/ the deconsolidation from the accounting and controllership view point, including close collaboration with the Healthcare Regional controllership teams, Corporate Controllership, International Transactions Team, Tax and Treasury.

  • Serve as primarily liaison with the Corporate International Transactions team on all transactions related to the Healthcare separation. Coordinate with representatives from other GE Industrial segments, Capital and Corporate to facilitate the accounting associated with the Healthcare separation and deconsolidation.

  • Coordinate with other members of the extended Global Closing and Consolidation team to ensure all Healthcare cross business transactions associated with the separation are booked accurately and all Corporate edit checks are passing.

  • Partner with the Healthcare Cash Team to ensure all separation related transactions are properly presented in the GE Healthcare consolidated statement of cash flows.

  • Provide regular updates to the Healthcare Controllership Leadership team on project status.

  • Proactively identify potential risks & opportunities and communicate effectively.

  • Interpret finance risks & opportunities to local circumstances & present workable solutions

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field and minimum of 2 years progressive accounting or finance experience

  • Experience working in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner

  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others

  • Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment

Essential Responsibilities: Operations assignments vary on assigned department. A fulfillment assignment may include working on material shortage issues, and working on materials planning while a sourcing assignments will entail working closely with the engineering team and strategic suppliers to identify opportunities for productivity -reducing costs- and supplier consolidation. The primary areas our Operations interns will work in are medical imaging, information technologies and patient monitoring.
