This is a key role within our growing business, taking responsibility within a global remit, as a driver of commercial insights capabilities and development across the operational side of the business. Our search intelligence data provides the backbone of understanding real time user intent, thereby enabling the delivery of both high value insights as well as performant programmatic marketing campaigns for our clients. It is with this goal in mind that the main focus of delivery will be against. Driving strategic initiatives to ensure we are delivering high quality insights to our clients globally, ensuring that Captify are continually seen as a valued partner. Working with the VP of I&A, you will be a stakeholder in our efforts to continually deliver this high quality combined with innovation, whilst looking at the requirements and processes to automate/scale globally the insights product set. Key partner functions in this role will be our sales and client strategy teams as the main conduit with our clients, both locally as well as those servicing global clients. You will also work closely with our marketing team, partnering across client pitches as well as content marketing initiatives our recent series of Recovery Insights following Covid has been receiving significant coverage across the industry.

The role is technology focused and so requires an individual with significant technical ability but also have proven commercial awareness, understanding the impact decisions will have strategically on the business. An important part of the role will be to guide global insights practices and proficiency, leading too both performance for our clients but also the ongoing evolution of our recognized high value customer insights. The candidate is therefore expected to bring a considerable amount of stakeholder management, experience working consultatively with senior level clients and commercial acumen of turning data driven insights ideas into business changing deliverables.

The candidate must have a strong foundation in display or search advertising, deep analytical practices, practical solution finding and importantly be able to visualize their work clearly to all levels of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Hands on leadership and coaching to develop a culture of high performance across the Insight teams globally
  • Active contributor delivering research and resultant ongoing innovation of how Captifys data resolves for both Insight and performance delivery to our clients
  • Innovate and propose new insights products, ensuring that all of Captifys insights products drive attributable revenue
  • Direct input into the standardization of global insight delivery to Captify clients, ensuring efficient scale of release.
  • Liaise with our Product Teams to spec out and incorporate data sources into our systems to manage smooth delivery of analysis
  • Create and strengthen relationships with insights buyers through outward engagement

Requirements

  • 6+ years analyzing large scale digital data identifying performance and commercial trends ideally within a Programmatic environment, with an appreciation of all marketing channels
  • Proven experience with big data and audience segmentation methodologies
  • Track record of developing and growing a high performing analytics function in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of managing/partnering with teams in multiple geos
  • Proven experience with statistical analysis and experiment design
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Demonstrative record of translating complex analysis into actionable insights for clients
  • Deep proven familiarity with SQL or similar querying languages
  • Exposure to high-level programming languages, such as Python or R for data modeling
  • Excellent insight and report visualization/presentation skills Tableau etc
  • A good degree (2:1 or higher) in Maths, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent.

CCB has operations in 25 countries. Commercial Lending Management ("CLM") is a front line organization within the CCB responsible for the end-to-end lending experience and risk management of CCB credit clients globally. Key responsibilities include loan underwriting, credit and financial due diligence, portfolio management, loan structuring and documentation, and credit delivery and client service. CLM manages approximately $50 billion in credit exposure across 12,000+ credit relationships in 19 countries. CLM's mission statement is to deliver a best in class lending experience for its clients and regulatory excellence for Citi's stakeholders. A key imperative for the long-term success of the CCB is maximizing the effectiveness of our global CLM credit officer population. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Director level professional to serve as the Global Head of Commercial Lending Transformation This position develops the strategy and execution plans to maximize credit officer effectiveness by focusing on underwriter and manager development, organizational alignment with OCC Heightened Expectations, and the necessary measurement, rewards and incentive programs to sustain high performance. Given the regulatory responsibilities of the CLM organization, this individual will ensure CLM properly identifies measures, mitigates and monitors credit risk through the development of the credit officer's voice, leadership and presence and overall effectiveness of their risk management skills. Critical to this strategy will also be the training of CLM managers and their implementation of common management disciplines for credit officer support. Finally, key to the sustained improved business results will be the strategy and implementation of common measurement, rewards and incentives for both our 300+ underwriters and 90+ managers. To be effective in this position, the candidate must understand the strategic direction of the CCB business and how the global and regional CLM organization operates, including credit officer and manager roles. This candidate must also be able to influence large populations (credit underwriters, managers and senior management), applying a project management methodology to advance these key business objectives globally. This executive will need to lead multiple work streams of individuals from all five global regions and 19 countries at any given time. In addition, the job requires someone with a significant level of knowledge of and experience in the commercial banking segment, who can confidently and effectively communicate our strategy with senior executives, including the CCB CEO, Region Heads, and Country Heads, as well as Global Office members whose key business objectives tie directly to these initiatives. The person needs to have strong communication skills and an advanced level of understanding of credit underwriting and risk management, and the traditional types of credit products typically associated with a global commercial banking business. This individual will report to the Global Head of Commercial Lending Management and the role will be based in New York. Key Responsibilities: Credit Officer Staffing & Adequacy Collaborate with senior management and Human Resources to develop a program to develop, attract, and retain talent and maintain staffing levels necessary to carry our CLM's role and responsibilities. Establish a systemic tool to measure, monitor and identify the number of staff and seniority levels needed to ensure an effective system of internal controls and front line unit risk management. Define key metrics and establish a tracking process to ensure ongoing adequacy of staffing against Plan. Develop key metrics and analytical tools, templates and other supporting materials to estimate senior credit officer ("SCO") and credit officer (i.e. CO1 thru CO4) staffing requirements at the country or CLM team level. Strengthen existing credit officer retention programs, e.g., identifying "at risk" personnel, identifying appropriate development / retention opportunities, and tracking their completion. Collaborate with country and regional CLM management to develop and implement strategies to avoid credit officer gaps in staffing. Establish and maintain a robust governance process to review staffing needs, capabilities, seniority, and training and development requirements across global CLM that may result from changes in the CCB's business strategy, portfolio quality or risk appetite. Establish consistency and coordination across hiring, staffing and training plans globally, including but not limited to ensuring global consistency in job descriptions, taxonomy, functional titles, credit officer initials, etc. for similar roles with similar responsibilities and experience requirements. Develop and maintain a pipeline management and reporting tool to ensure the timely and appropriate progression of CLM personnel with respect to training and development, functional promotions, and credit officer initials. Establish a governance framework to ensure promotion processes reflect both technical skills and managerial capabilities. Align CCB practices, procedures to Wholesale Credit Risk remediation efforts, including serving on relevant/appropriate working groups. Credit Officer and Manager Development Lead the effort, in partnership with Human Resources, Learning & Development, Independent Risk and peers across the ICG, to design and implement a comprehensive training program for CLM credit officer and managers, targeting both technical and soft skills. The training programs will focus on credit, risk management, client and transactional management, as well as the overall leadership and executive presence skills required by CLM credit officers. Develop a manager training strategy that would support embedding the desired credit officer behaviors into the CLM organization in a common and consistent global way to drive the credit risk management effectiveness of each credit officer and CLM team. Work with a team of senior executives to strategically assess the current situation and development needs of the CLM organization globally. Gather information and evaluates all existing training programs, then develop a new global training strategy. As part of the process, determine whether to engage an outside consultant to help advise on strategy and content and, if so, manages this vendor relationship. Develop an implementation plan for the new programs for all regions and countries, including organizational plans and budgets. Partner with leadership, including regional/country L+D teams, to evaluate, allocate resources, and deploy these programs to the global CLM organization, in multiple languages where appropriate. Create a sustained framework for continuing with these key credit officer programs globally going forward. Design and embed a process to review and update hiring and learning and development expectations on a periodic basis. Additional training programs may focus on developing advanced credit risk management skills of our credit officers, with a goal of specifically developing their risk management effectiveness at underwriting and risk managing larger, more complex global credit clients and credit products. Serve as a CCB advisor to the Wholesale Senior Credit Officer Designation Program: ACE, and partner with peers in other Citi wholesale businesses on common initiatives. Establish strong relationships with executive level managers across CLM globally to understand their needs and concerns about credit officer learning and development. Understand the regional skills and expertise needed to execute CLM's responsibilities as a front line risk management unit and coordinate with CLM country and regional management to identify learning gaps and ensure consistent global programs that meet local needs. Collaborate with functional partners in Independent Risk and Risk Governance to identify thematic or emerging areas that require targeted training and development. Design an onboarding training program for global CLM to ensure all new / transferred employees gain necessary insight into process, procedures and operations. Collaborate with Independent Risk to ensure the CCB's Credit College is an effective development tool for new and emerging credit officers. Design market-level training programs on regulatory reporting definitions, BAU processes and key system updates. Collaborate with functional partners such as Legal, O&T, AML, ORM, etc. to ensure L&D curriculum includes all related risk stripes relevant to the CLM role in the organization. Credit Officer Measurement, Rewards & Incentives Ensures credit officer effectiveness is sustained long term for improved client and regulatory results by developing the strategy to measure, reward and properly incentivize the credit officer population. Work with a team of senior executives and Human Resources to design a common scorecard for credit officer and manager measurement, by evaluating OCC Heighted Expectations and all existing approaches in each of the five global regions. Determine key performance drivers and design metrics to align in support of executive level scorecards, and then develop the reporting strategy and framework to track and measure progress in a simple and consistent way. Work with global and regional finance as well as business teams to ensure reporting capabilities are in place for effective tracking scorecards. In conjunction with development of a global credit officer scorecard framework, evaluate engaging an outside consultant to advise on incentive plans to complement and drive appropriate behaviors and results for a frontline credit risk management unit. Determine best implementation and communication plan, as well as launch timing, for maximum receptivity and effectiveness, and design all necessary communication materials for a consistent and transparent message. Evaluate non-financial reward programs, including those that recognize our credit officers. Ensure that at least on a regional basis there are rewards and recognition programs in place, especially for high performing credit officers for retention. Align as best as possible rewards and recognition to key desired credit officer behaviors.
