The Business Analyst will represent the GCDO organization as part of the Internal Data Product Team, working closely with the Product Owner and PwC's global stakeholders to capture detailed data requirements, mappings, and gaps. This role will play a critical function in facilitating and supporting subsequent modeling and engineering activities, by ensuring feature-level requirements are decomposed, groomed, and prioritised in the form of user stories/tasks to be delivered within the sprints.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

The Internal Data Product Management Team is responsible for managing the intake, requirements, and prioritisation of use cases based on demand across global internal stakeholder groups. Our core product offering is to provide stakeholders with access to internal data sets in the form of reusable insight services that are easily accessible, robust, intuitive, secured, and governed.

The Internal Data Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to document detailed data requirements and identify mappings/gaps across insights services and data sources curated on the data platform, in order to facilitate the delivery of these requirements by the technical teams and service the needs of our internal stakeholders.

Key success factors for this role include the ability to understand both the functional and technical needs of our stakeholders, document detailed data requirements aligned to stakeholders' needs, identify and communicate gaps and dependencies, decompose features into user stories and tasks, and support the delivery pods throughout modeling, engineering, and testing activities.

As such, the applicant should demonstrate extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader:

  • Understanding business use cases, outlining challenges, opportunities, and solutions for the business stakeholders; assessing the business implications of the application of data within the current business environment;

  • Documenting business-driven data products requirements from which insight services can be developed based on design standards and reusable architecture patterns;

  • Capturing detailed requirements, developing data products mapping and lineage documentations so they are technically ready to be communicated with modeling and engineering teams;

  • Coordinating with business stakeholders and internal teams to ensure comprehensive business analysis and requirement mapping, and that success criteria are met and effectively communicated to the development and testing teams;

  • Applying analytical skills to understand, map, and document business and data requirements and present these requirements in a manner that is concise, measurable, and flexible enough to meet stakeholder needs;

  • Participating in planning and prioritisation activities to develop and agree on requirements, program increments, sprint objectives, and release schedules;

  • Defining and managing user stories and tasks to be completed by the internal data engineering pods in alignment with the product management vision;

  • Understanding of Agile development principles and experience working on an Agile team (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) with an onshore/offshore delivery model;

  • Leveraging data-driven product implementation, specifically data engineering, data warehousing and virtualization, and reporting/analytics solutions; and,

  • Working knowledge with respect to SQL query development and debugging, data modeling concepts, understanding of ETL techniques and technologies, and software development and testing methodologies.
