Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish long term strategy for the CAPEX & Engineering Services category, in collaboration with multi-functional stakeholders

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships ensure we understand the needs of the business, are supporting the Dexcom team to the absolute best of our ability, and are able to leverage support of other functions where needed

  • Ensure maximum value is achieved for every Dexcom dollar spent

  • Ensure yearly savings & avoidance targets are achieved, and independently verified with our finance partners

  • Build/maintain multi-year capacity roadmaps for all key suppliers always have a plan for what the next stage of Dexcom's growth looks like

  • Use a mix of quantitative & qualitative methods to identify & mitigate risks to the business

  • Maximize working capital through smart inventory programs & payment term policies

  • Establish operational objectives and work plans to meet the function's long term plans

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing concepts & best practices

  • Strong knowledge of industry contract terms & practices

  • Ability to effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment

  • Ability to build a quantitative & qualitative business case, articulate it effectively, and get support from senior leadership

  • Proven track record of delivering results while working effectively cross-functionally

  • Mastery of Excel & PowerPoint

  • Experience building and leading cross-functional teams in a highly regulated industry

Functional/Business Knowledge:

  • Having wide-range experiene and uses professional concepts and knowledge of company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways

  • Possesses knowledge of advanced concepts, techniques, and standards

  • Viewed as expert in the field within the function

Scope:

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation

  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives

  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise

Judgement:

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other colleagues

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. MS and/or MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. At this level, a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years related experience

  • Up to 25%

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
