Responsibilities

Iron Mountain (IM) is seeking a procurement and strategic sourcing professional with sourcing, category management and vendor management experience to join a progressive Global Procurement organization. The Category Manager, Telecom will be responsible for leading telecom initiatives and strategies in line with overall regional and global procurement category management strategies, opportunity assessments, and sourcing / negotiation activities. This role is responsible for proactively engaging with key Iron Mountain leaders to ensure business objectives and priorities are well aligned with multi-year sourcing plans. The Category Manager will drive improvements globally, as applicable in total cost of ownership (TCO), deliver significant cost savings and identify continuous improvement opportunities across a range of major spend categories.

This position will interact and interface (across all IM businesses) including but not limited to the Senior Vice President, Infrastructure & Delivery, Information Technology, VP Infrastructure, Senior Director Global Field Operations, Director Network & Telecom, Network Engineers, Unified Communications engineers, business leaders, Risk and Legal. This role reports directly into the Director of Global Procurement, Telecom & IT within the Global Procurement Organization. The role will manage/support a total spend portfolio of approximately $50 million and a supply base of 450 vendors. This position would be recognized as the sourcing expert for Telecom-related categories, would liaison with Legal, act as Procurement lead to the business, integrate into the business to ensure a complete alignment, have a deep understanding of the business goals and partner in developing sourcing strategies. The goal is to be value added, subject matter expert to the business and enhance the value of our telecommunications supply chain.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Category Management Wireline & Wireless technologies worldwide

  • Coordinate sourcing activities and develop a comprehensive category plan

  • Lead Category Management activities through a structured sourcing process in coordination with global and regional Procurement counterparts

  • Identify and execute category opportunities to improve the corporate environmental and social goals

  • Drive internal compliance with policies, procedures, strategies, and guidelines on an ongoing basis

  • Negotiate and execute highly complex and visible contracts with suppliers.Coordinate contracting process through Legal, Risk, IT, Finance and other impacted business functions as determined to represent the business needs of each function in order for decisions to be made by senior leadership.

  • Minimized risk from third party relationships.Reduce company risk by ensuring appropriate contract coverage over external spend.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Best in Class vendor relationship management practices. Identify and implement ways to assess supply chain risk to protect against supply interruption and/or financial stress in the supply chain.

  • Manage stakeholder engagement (internal and external) throughout the initiative, effectively delegating activities and tasks to drive process to completion

  • Analyze and continuously monitor market and industry data to ensure programs remain competitive throughout the agreement period

  • Improve cash flow through the implementation of alternate payment methods as appropriate (e.g., buyer initiated payment (BIP), p-cards) and/or negotiated extension of vendor pay terms where feasible

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Licenses & Certifications : CPSM preferred

  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating, contracting, analysis, project management and leading an area in implementing new supplier agreements/programs

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to initiate action and decision

  • Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills

  • Microsoft Office proficiency specifically Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with procurement systems including Oracle ERP, RFX/Auctioning technology, etc.
