The Global Capital Equipment Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all procurement activities related to capital equipment for Stoneridge's global operations focusing on minimizing the total cost of ownership including factors such as:

  • Capital investment

  • Quality

  • Scrap

  • Utilization

  • Maintenance cost

  • Flexibility / reusability

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Define and execute global capital equipment strategy

  • Understand Stoneridge's current and future global needs for capital equipment

  • Identify opportunities to commonize processes and equipment globally

  • Define and maintain a supplier strategy including managing the relationships

  • Execute strategic supplier agreements

  • Interact with internal stakeholders to drive standardization

Lead sourcing activities globally

  • Interface with operations teams responsible for defining requirements and delivering a production line that meets or exceeds expectations

  • Lead RFQ and supplier selection activities

  • Negotiate lowest total cost with suppliers

  • Support execution and change management throughout the project

Support project approval requests

  • Interface with Product Line Directors and Operations to provide estimates for equipment cost

  • Support project reviews with Senior Leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience purchasing capital equipment

  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, TS16949/IATF 16949

  • Experience working in global project teams

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact positively with all levels in the organization

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field]
  • Three to five years of experience in automotive manufacturing
