Smith+Nephew is undertaking a multi-year Global ERP Program to deliver a standard set of business processes underpinned by the implementation of a common/single SAP S4 Hana business across the global core business functions of Manufacturing Operations and Commercial businesses. It will leverage the investment into Malaysia and Austin operations that already exist with the current S4 HANA environment. The program will provide Smith+Nephew with a major step change in capabilities, by creating a platform that will strategically enable the business to address major pain points such as harmonized business processes and data driving towards a single source of truth, excessive manual work and lack of automation, being able to operate by predicting rather than reacting, reducing an existing highly customized and complex working environment and simplifying our IT landscape thus improving Smith+Nephew business support functions, support simpler mergers and acquisitions, master data management and integrations into the rest of the business including the supply chain.

The areas of business covered: Demand to delivery (D2D) including demand planning, MRP and capacity scheduling, MFG execution, Batch management, Quality management, GR from MFG, Packaging and labelling, Plant maintenance, and Related materia data Order to cash (OTC) including Order management, Order fulfillment, Distribution, Warehousing and Transportation, OTC reporting, AR & billing, and Related master data Procure to pay including Sourcing, Contracting, PO transactions, processing and Transmissions, Invoice & reporting, Subcontracting and inter-company and Related master data Record to report (R2R) including Financial planning and consolidation, Cash Management and Treasury, Manufacturing Finance, General ledger, AP, AR, FA, Tax (direct and indirect), Management Accounting, Financial structures, and Related master data Other tracks and services such as Reporting, Master Data, Quality assurance, Archiving, Security and controls. To provide a specific focus on developing and delivering a Global SAP-enabled Business Process Template for Smith and Nephew, a dedicated team of Global Business Process owners has been established. The GBPO team will be supported by up to many Smith+Nephew SMEs (Subject Matter Experts).

What will you be doing?

The Global Business Process Team Project Director will be responsible for providing a project management service to the Global Business Process Owner organization and associated SMEs in the design, build, test, and deployment of the green field implementation of Smith+Nephew's Global ERP using SAP S4 HANA technology.

The role requires the individual to provide:

1.Oversight and management of the specific Risks, Issues, Deliverables, Dependencies, Actions and Assumptions that underpin the outputs of the Business Process Team.

2.Project plans, detailed trackers, and reporting mechanisms that ensure delivery of the Business Process Stream deliverables to time, quality, and cost

Clear understanding of the critical path activities and timely escalation of any barriers and mitigation to the critical path

The program is built around founding principles and assumptions that will drive towards an outcome from the start for which this role will play a leading and critical part in ensuring they are achieved; these are in summary form: Standardized global template built from best in class as defined by SAP pertinent for the life science sector with minimal (i.e. <10%) variation from that standard Maintaining the concept of "keep the core clean" by leveraging standard as well as modern SAP technology to avoid impacting the ERP core Driving standardization across all S+N franchise operations enabled by SAP technology and the global template concept Driving standardization and cleansing for data and related SAP data model as defined by the global template solution and supporting processes Driving outcomes for total cost of ownership reduction of our global SAP investment over time built around standardization, simplification, and various technology plays Change management is a fundamental built into the program from the start which needs to be transparent and effective to allow a journey of change for the company Maintaining the scope of the global template as defined by the program charter to ensure that ERP is kept "right-sized" as understood within S+N - the concept of change of any nature is carefully and strongly controlled The development of future organizational capability in terms of program operations and service delivery operations are carefully maintained and considered throughout the journey. This role will be a critical member of the BPO team and PMO group supporting the delivery of this strategic initiative and is primarily tasked to ensure a successful delivery as scoped and planned to deliver the agreed value to the S&N Business optimally.

Management of the specific Risks, Issues, Deliverables, Dependencies, Actions, and Assumptions that underpin the outputs of the Business Process Team. L1 to L3 Project plans, and L5 and L6 detailed trackers and reporting mechanisms that ensure delivery of the Business Process Stream deliverables to time, quality, and cost Clear understanding of the critical path activities and timely escalation of any barriers and mitigation to the critical path Contributing to and working in a matrix Governance with the PMO function for the program and all related matters including program and project plans relating to the Business Process Stream.

Support the leadership of the GBPO Stream through the different phases of the program by supporting the methodology with strong controls, governance, and planning accountable and leading the capacity planning of resources related to the Business Process stream advising, collaborating, and mentoring the GBPOs as part of the leadership function Responsibility to support the program in its aim of remaining true to the founding principles as defined above Lead the Change Management workstream to ensure aspects of change are closely integrated with the business process Stream Adopt best-in-class tooling for program controls and governance including deliverables, signoff, data, change, technology, training etc. Support the BPO stream in the successful transition from program to service delivery (BAU) Reporting for the BPO stream at all levels as defined by the program governance operating model Support the management and preparation and follow-up of BPO meetings, as well as Programme, Operational, and Executive SteerCos Managing program to the SDLC for S+N and PMO compliance

What will you need to be successful?

15+ Business/IT career experience preferably with 10+years of project management experience. 7+ leading and handling spectrum business and/or IT programs of multi-national / multi franchise / multi-year projects end to end resulting in evidential delivery of value into the business. Working in sophisticated, matrix-organized program structures and teams with multiple skills and locations.

Strong communicator with various types of stakeholders including executives. Experienced vendor relationship management, measuring vendor against KPIs. Strong, multi-year business process experience as defined by the scope of the program.

Experienced working with teams from different backgrounds. 7+ governance experience influencing and engaging with partners up to the Executive level. Detailed experience of financial management of programs and their controls, program budget. Experienced in commercial negotiation, vendor management, RFP process, and SOW delivery.

Strong people and development skills, experienced in management between 5-10 direct reports with Business or IT team Evidential experience in leading sophisticated programs to scope, influencing customers to effect a successful on-time delivery. Ability to lead and empower teams through various mechanisms to inspire people and grow people to allow them to succeed. Ability to work with wider Business and IT community (e.g. infrastructure) to remove roadblocks, influence delivery to ensure program success.

Location: USA based with up to 40%+ travel
