The Repurchase Vice President will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of highly time-sensitive recovery, repurchase and contractual obligation activity to support the firm's Residential Mortgage Trading Desks for varied asset classes including agency/non-agency new origination and non-performing/re-performing mortgage loans. You will also be responsible for overseeing a small team of experienced professionals driving the execution of repurchase processes.
Responsibilities
Play a pivotal role working with clients and collaborating with multiple trading desks, legal counsel, compliance experts and business line peers to ensure timely resolution of inbound and outbound repurchase demand activity
Provide strong leadership to a small seasoned team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Manage workflows and workload distribution, monitor progress of the inbound and outbound pipelines and ensure contractual obligations are met within the timelines dictated
Build controls and processes to ensure accurate execution on activities within areas of responsibility
Track findings and format trending to use in overall improvement of process and performance
Leverage expertise and experience in multiple related business lines including default servicing, title, and mortgage loan servicing to prepare repurchase demands and to communicate the Firm's position related to complex scenarios and deficiencies cited in breach notifications
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Experience Requirements
5+ years of residential mortgage transaction experience with additional servicing experience with an emphasis in Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Loss Mitigation and Tax and Title related matters preferred
Strong ability to organize, analyze and interpret legal and compliance materials including trade related purchase and sale agreements, loan level representations and warranties, due diligence reports, credit underwriting, funding schedules, and collateral documents
Broad knowledge of default servicing, title and trade due diligence
Very strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders including peers, servicers and vendors, clients and the trading desk.
Strong self-confidence, good judgment, and sound decision making and problem solving skills
