VMware Solutions Consultants work very closely with their Global Accounts sales team, which consists of a Global Accounts Manager (GAM), Internal Sales Rep (ISR) and various downstream teams. The Solutions Consultant is a high impact, very visible role responsible for ensuring pervasive enterprise adoption of VMware software and solutions, and closing enterprise transactions within a small number of globally dominant companies. The role is a pre-sales quota carrying role with high visibility within VMware.


  • Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward accomplishing a task.

  • Charismatic personality with strong solution selling acumen.

  • Proven track record of selling services as part of a solution.

  • Ability to see and present "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better.

  • Strong customer-facing and relationship building skills.

  • Experience with enterprise applications, security, systems management, business continuity solutions a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time, including international if necessary.

  • BA/BS or equivalent required


  • Present VMware value proposition to customers and partners.

  • Understand the customer's high-level business challenges globally and locally.

  • Match VMware solutions to customer's business and technical requirements.

  • Become a technical advisor within each global account.

  • Sell professional services consistently as part of a total solution.

  • Act as a business analyst to determine which products and services offer solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Research and present reports showing customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services.

  • Provide technical training to clients and communicate customer feedback into future product developments.

  • Define and implement a go-to-market strategy for each global account to ensure technical adoption of VMware solutions.

  • Act as a business development liaison --Build and leverage strong OEM and partner relationships.

  • Present VMware vision, strategy and product roadmaps to executives and technical management.

VIEW JOBS 12/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-13T00:00 Job Description The Sr. Workplace Operations Manager, Global Workplace Solutions will provide facilities management solutions to the Palo Alto and Milpitas sites (HQ). This role includes management of the Maintenance/Building Engineer team and management of Facilities operations. Responsible for all Facilities related services including management of the internal maintenance team, space management, MACs, vendor management, transportation, site maintenance, building maintenance, site budget and budget tracking, mail services, and shipping & receiving functions. This position is highly visible within the Palo Alto and Milpitas sites and requires interfacing with management and employees at all levels of the organization as well as vendors and City representatives in the Bay Area. Key Responsibilities Operations: * Manage Facilities Operations, including building maintenance (e.g. HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and hardware maintenance and service), operational requirements for the Palo Alto campus and satellite Milpitas locations. * In conjunction with Varian policies and guidelines, develop and implement sourcing, contract and vendor management strategies. * Manage vendors and work closely with Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing to manage vendor contracts for Facilities related services, such as building maintenance, janitorial, coffee/tea service, plant service, catering service, recycling/waste management, equipment maintenance, mail/post services, risk assessment/ergonomic contractor, health & safety contractor etc. * Identify and implement various operational enhancement opportunities and maintain a continuous improvement strategy * Collaborate with construction project manager in overseeing work in Palo Alto and Milpitas * Collaborate with security manager to ensure security standards are maintained in Palo Alto and Milpitas * Develop, track, analyze and report operational budget for the Palo Alto and Milpitas offices. Forecast expenses and associated financial activities. Identify and implement cost efficiencies on a regular basis * Participate and support the business Site Manager on various Facilities strategies. * Manage Shipping & Receiving for all incoming/outgoing shipments and packages and assure they are properly received. * Manage conference room listing on Outlook for employee scheduling. Maintain schedule for training rooms and main meeting rooms. * Assist space planner in updating space management system Planning and analysis: * In conjunction with global guidelines and in coordination with various Lease Administration and CAMF tools - consolidate and report capacity, occupancy and lease data with high degree of integrity and consistency. Manage and implement space audits on a quarterly basis and review process to proactively manage any potential variances. * Provide month-end accrual reports for Palo Alto and Milpitas, conducting gap analysis as needed. Job Requirements * 8+ years minimum experience in corporate facilities or related field * Thorough understanding of Facility Operations * Understanding of building systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus * Sound negotiating and vendor management skills * Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly * Proven interpersonal skills and ability to develop trust and influence others. * Ability to engage with business Managers effectively * A practical sense and ability to implement Education Required Graduate or higher educational qualification in Real Estate, Operations, Business, Finance or related field Varian Medical Systems, Inc.
