Job Description Job Description Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not directly manage a team.

Position Summary A Heavy Equipment Operator supports the maintenance department by utilizing a variety of large, heavy equipment and machinery. A successful candidate will do with heightened awareness of driving conditions and surroundings and observe all established safety precautions and driving procedures. A successful candidate will also have the ability to work independently, but also enjoy opportunities to work on tasks and projects on a team.

Key Responsibilities Efficiently dig pipe ditches to grade Follow plans on installing irrigation pipe Work with a team to install pipe- includes hands-on work at times when not operating equipment Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure creating and maintaining a safe work environment Other duties as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications 5 years’ relevant work experience Experience operating excavators and/or mini-excavators Preferred Qualifications Bulldozer operator experience a plus Motor Grader operator experience a plus Job Setting & Physical Demands This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens.

There are occasional needs to work in confined spaces. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility.

Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
