Job Summary

AECOM is looking for an experienced GIS Specialist to work as an on-site contractor at a client site to provide esri ArcGIS Portal development services. This position is based at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, NC. The GIS Specialist will configure, deploy, and maintain ArcGIS Portal content and web-enabled tools to support the analysis/visualization of enterprise, business system, or external data elements in support of The United States Marine Corps GEOFidelis Program's mission objectives.

This position is based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC. This position is 1 hour north of Wilmington, but it is not in Wilmington NC

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Support MCAS New River with the development and execution of ArcGIS Portal solutions to aid installation management objective.

• Serves as the technical lead supporting the creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS Portal.

• Manage web-based geospatial content/apps/systems and maintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties.

• Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed work. Independently responds to technical/administrative instructions on results expected.

• Provide consultation for ArcGIS Portal strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance and training and liaison support with installation/regional IGI&S Manager or other functional communities

• Meets with subject matter experts to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions and operational problems.

• Defines optimum workflows for ArcGIS Portal, and designs, implements, and tests configuration changes.

• Review technical requirements to meet MCAS New River objectives and perform quality assurance on ArcGIS Portal content/services.

• Develops new approaches to problems and coordinates technical specifications, customized solutions and operational problems.

This position is based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC. This position is 1 hour north of Wilmington, but it is not in Wilmington NC.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in geography, planning, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field with emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS) + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Valid driver's license

• US Citizen based on need to obtaining a secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years of ArcGIS desktop GIS experience

• 2 years of ArcGIS Portal experience

• Must have the ability to work with a team of professionals

• Excellent time management skills

• Will be required to work independently and communicate directly with customers from environmental, energy and other business areas
